Does anyone know if I can stream audio from my iPod Touch (latestest model with latest firmware) over Bluetooth to my Prius? The Bluetooth tab under audio is disabled on the Prius??

Problem solved. Pair device through Settings. The iPod Touch pays through the Prius Audio just fine.

My ignorance abounds!!! I can sync my iTouch with bluetooth? I am glad I read this before buying some expensive accessory.

Does the owners manual explain this? My iTouch did not come with any manual, instructions were on line.

Just turn on Bluetooth in the general settings. You must have the latest firmware ($10). In the car, it must be added as a device before the Bluetooth tab is enabled in Audio.

Worked unsuccessfully for about 20 minutes trying to pair the phone so I decided to pull out the iPod Touch to see if it was any easier. paired it in about 30 second. That is so cool!

Had to get the phone manual out to figure out how to pair it. Both work with bluetooth now (just not at the same time)

I went to Settings on my Prius but don't see where to pair the device - am probably missing it...can you be a bit more specific?

    Thanks

    Thanks

p.295 in the Prius Navigation System Owner's Manual. Click on Bluetooth Audio Settings while your iPod is nearby with bluetooth turned on. It works amazingly well. It switches to using the car audio automatically once paired.

Thanks..I finally got it to work, but it did not switch automatically. I had to go to Audio Settings -> register -> my itouch then found the car multimedia, which was reserved for my phone, but I selected it on the itouch, it paired and then I had to go Portable Player, the car then found my itouch, but no audio. I hit the Aux button on my nav panel and voila! Sound!!! Works beautifully now, but I'm not sure why I had to go through all of these steps. It doesn't sound like you had to do that...

If I go Audio->BT, which is now enabled, I can press the play button to play what I was listening to on the Touch. I need now to source something that will enable me to power the Touch from the car.

Yes, I noticed that...I actually didn't even have my itouch with me and was listening to the same music I listened to prior...I have to switch to sat to go back to listening to satellite radio, so I guess our setup is different.

I wised the automatic parking thingy worked as well. The last several times I tried to impress friends with it, it failed. It's one thing that's harder to use, then just parking the car yourself. :-(

Does anyone know if the non-nav 2010 Prius III can use my iPod Touch bluetooth to stream audio? I can pair my T-Mobile G1 with the car just fine, but I'd love to be able to use my iPod without the aux cable. My attempt to pair the Touch failed. For some reason the car wasn't seen by the Touch. I'll try again this morning.

There is nothing in the owners manual or in Toyota marketing that says non-nav systems have bluetooth audio streaming. Someone in another thread claims to have installed it on their non-nav III, but it seems likely they were misspeaking, since noone has posted instructions on how this is possible. I'm almost certain there are third party bluetooth adaptors that could be plugged into the aux port.

And don't forget that the iPod touch must be a 2nd generation model with a firmware version of 3.0 or newer at the time of this post.

Do you know if you are able to simultaneously pair a phone via Bluetooth while you're streaming music with Bluetooth?

    Thanks!

(I emailed this question to Toyota a couple of days ago...)

I know that when I am streaming music from my iPod and I get a call, it switched to the call and once I hang up, I go back to listening to music. I'm thinking that you have to pair the phone and iPod first and then you can switch between the two.
