I went to City Toyota and test drove a Prius IV with Nav. The MSRP is 29128 and I asked for 1k off. Is that a good deal? The total comes out to 31312.14 out the door.

    I'm pretty sure that MSRP on a IV is $25,800 + $1800 for navigation = $27,600. (plus tax/title/etc)

It's $28,350 when you add in the $750 delivery fee. Then it's plus title, taxes, any dealer processing fee, etc.

Na, the base price for the IV is 28350 + 1800 Nav + 220 pearl white.

You're double counting the NAV in that number.

Most dealers around here are still asking MSRP. Even Carmax is only $102 off MSRP.

If that's what your dealership is quoting you, I can guarantee they won't have any issues giving you $1000 off, since they would still be overcharging you $800 over MSRP ;)

How are they charging me 800 over msrp? 28350+750 destination fee + 220 Pearl white = 29320. They are selling 28128.

There you are double counting the destination fee. The IV + NAV + Delivery fee + Blizzard Pearl is

    25,800 + 1800 + 750 + 220 = 28570.

Dealers would love doing their 4 square negotiations with you. :p

$26,550 includes the $750 "destination" fee.
I'm pretty sure I won't be paying that fee actually...
I need to look over the papers again, but from what I remember, that was never figured into the total I was given.

Humm..that's weird because on the sticker, it does not show anything as mark up and Toyota's website doesn't say the 28350 includes the dest. fee.

The $26550 MSRP already includes the $750 delivery fee.

    $26550 + $1800 + $220 still doesn't add up to your number.

If you Build your Toyota, the last page breaks out the delivery fee.

Thx for pointing that out. That's weird because the one i was looking at was 29XXX and they do not have mark up on their prius. I just talked to my friend and he will check for me tomorrow. He actually works there too and he was not aware of the price difference.

I bought a silver IV with NAV, carpeted mats and wheel locks, and the total MSRP was $28,617.

Maybe it has a few factory or port accessories on it.

I just found out they have paint protection for all the doors which cost 350. I don't think I will buy it with that option since it seems very pointless.
