Mine has switched from Recirc to Fresh on several occasions, although never when in ECO mode. Once the car cools sufficiently, mine has switched. The manual says it will switch to Recirc in ECO above a preset temperature (not stated). I also expect it will switch to floor vents when it gets cold enough.

Mine has switched in ECO mode, so I must have pushed the temp above that limit.

I have a US IV, and no mirror rear view camera is standard.

Got my 2010 Prius for a month/4000 km now.

Coming from a Toyota Echo, I have lost, by upgrading to a car almost twice its cost:

    1. ICE temperature light (A blue temp icon was lit on the Echo until the ICE got hot, useful for manually controlling the heater in the winter). This is not that bad as I don’t have to control heating on the Prius (its automatic).

    2. A low level windshield washer. The Echo told me I was running out of it before it became empty. With my CAN$26000 Prius, I am offered a oil-level like stick to manually check washer fluid?!?!? What the heck?!?! How much would it have cost?? I’m really annoyed about this one!

    Hi:

The rearview camera is available in Canada with the 2010 Toyota Prius Premium Pkg and up. Only the Technology Package Model which, by the way, is the 'fully loaded' version (NAV, Solar Panel, Adv. Tech) has the camera in the NAV. All Canadian models are equipped with Daytime Running Lights and Automatic Headlamp System.

    Not the case.
There was no option for the camera with a rear view mirror display. I had asked the salesman about it since I wanted one, but never saw an option for it in the catalog nor online. He said it was not available.
Yet one is shown in the Owner's Manual.

This is a great deal. Be sure they are using the correct motor oil; 0W20 synthetic and only the 4.4 Qts as required by Toyota. --TK

Eh? I have a Prius III without any option for this. Mine turn off after :30, too. They are all "auto off" but not full auto, as far as I know. KW

There is night lighting on my feet after I place Prius in park mode, but there is no accessory lighting over the auxiliary storage area underneath the Flying Buttress Archway Console Control System (FBACCS), so if I need to find something important I placed there in the dark, such as my car keys or my Abba concert tickets or my CO² corkscrew, I'm just SOL. Also, why aren't the switches lit up at night at the lower left part of the dashboard? — I'm speaking of the headlight washers and the like.

No mute on the NAV sound system? There is a dedicated mute button on the non-nav cheapo radio, so why not a mute mode for the additional $1,800? The only workaround I've found is to punch the audio system to off (note: that is not a workaround), or program & tune SAT radio to channel 000.

I did the test again to be sure. I got out of the car, locked the doors, made sure the FOB was far away from the car (just in case this affected something) and waited a full three minutes. The headlights remained on. I believe you need the "Auto" feature for them to switch off. Anyone else have headlights that turn off even though they do not have the "Auto" feature. If so, I'm taking mine back to the dealer to see what's wrong.

I haven't gotten mine yet, but the Prius brochure lists "Projector-beam halogen headlamps with auto-off feature" as standard in the II, III, and IV. The V also has auto-off, but with LED headlamps.

Yes, I did the test too and waited for 2-3 minutes and lights kept on. There is no "auto" feature in my model 3 Prius. Is that a feature of any other model? Maybe model 5 only? This is just stupid. I can see finding myself running out of battery many times because I always forget to turn the darn lights off when I leave the car and stupid Toyota engineers did not add even a warning beep to let you know the lights were kept on!!!!!

My Prius III has the auto off. We've used this several times and as we walk away in the parking lot, we see the lights turning off. That is really odd that some others don't have it.

Look in the owners manual in 6.2 pages 589-590 (I got the pdf version from PC somewhere). It shows "Time elapsed before headlights automatically turn off after doors are closed" with a default setting of 30 seconds and customized settings of 0, 60, or 90 seconds. There is also a reference to page 206 that I don't have.

Did you get yours to turn off automatically?

Puzzling... I'll check to see if I have an "auto" setting, but basically I have left my headlights on since I got the car and they always switch off after 30 seconds once I exit the car.

Funny story: my wife is one of those people who checks to make sure the door is locked before she walks away from the car... except... with the key fob, the door of course opens right back up. I could really, really see this in an episode of Monk.

    If this may help:

The auto-off feature only work if you turn the car off while leaving the headlights on. If you manually turn them off then on after the car is shutdown, I think they will stay on.

This is true for Canada. Not sure about US.

OK, thanks. I may be doing something wrong. I will retest it again later today. I hope I don’t have to take it to the dealer...

Make sure you power off the car before you open the car door as well. Assuming they work the same way as the Gen.II.
