I think you can only reprogram to also open the passenger door and the hatch if you have a IV or a V...the III fob opens just the driver door, from what I've read.

On my 2010 III i had the dealer program FOBs to open all doors with one push on button and i reprogramed the SKS so that when i grab the drivers door it unlocks and all the other doors unlock also.

Here in Chicago, you can't get the solar roof option. We had one on order for 8 weeks before the dealer told us the demand is high but the manufacturer is "clueless" about building them and will offer a package that doesn't include the solar roof but will have the GPS + backup camera but no sun roof. We ordered the solar roof only because we wanted a sun roof.

Can anyone give me an idea of what I can expect to pay for a V with the Adv Tech package?

I just put in a dealer order today for a V with Navigation in Barcelona Red Metallic with Gray leather. I also added the 3M Paint protection film to be added at the factory.

I must say that I've gotten a great deal of information from these forums and I can't wait for the car to arrive. I know it's going to take a while so hopefully I can be an expert from these forums by the time I take delivery.

Thanks to all for such great information!

I am really enjoying all the wonderful info you have provided after you got your "new baby." I am expecting my prius- a III with solar/nav in about 2 weeks. This will be my first hybrid so any information I can learn here is great. Keep up the reports!! Thanks:p

We picked up a model IV this week with nav. We traded our '94 Jeep Grand Cherokee Ltd in the Cash for Clunkers program. This was a great deal for us as the Jeep would have only been worth about $1700 on a trade and we got $4500 in the program. They would not discount the Prius at all which was no surprise. The salesman said it was the last one they had. And it was in our preferred red/tan color combo.

Like it very much so far.

I would not settle for my III with out solar roof!
It sounds to me like you need a new dealer!!!
You can get your deposit back, no questions!

The III is not available with solar roof here in S. CA either, but I got one!
Mine was a fluke because my local dealer ordered two for a rental business they sublet out, but they are around.
We were going to go out of state or order one.

Try a "Build My Prius" with zip codes outside your area.
Or call dealers out of your area and ask where they are available.
Here The are East in AZ or North Central CA.

I plan to have this car a very long time, and I would not live with the regret of not getting my roof, much less the mega cool (literally) solar roof!

As far as saying the manufacturer doesn't have a clue..
Not someone I want to give $30,000 to!

High demand or not, you are the consumer, get what you want!

    You are so funny!:p

I think about handing my purse to a stranger and asking them run away from my car every time I close it now! :)

Backup camera is included with the nav system on every model with nav.

Thx for your reply but I mistyped, I met without the Nav System.

I have a portable GPS that can go from car to car.

The answer is no, not from the factory, if you are in the US. Canada has an option for a backup camera that shows up in the rearview mirror.

I would like to see the back up camera only as an option. I have a portable GPS that cost 200 and works fine, I don't want to spend 1800 for a Nav system. I love the back up camera in my 2006 Prius. Please consider this request and I will be interested in purchasing a 2010 other wise I will keep my 2006 and wait until Prius comes out with Camera only or another vendor comes out with one and gets good mileage.
    :)

I will not purchase a 2010 because of the way they have options packaged. The are forcing you to purchase options that I don't want. The one that really irks me is the backup camera available only with the Nav pkg for 1800. Get real I will keep my 2006 until something comes along that I want at a reasonable price and good mileage.:mad::mad:

I think Toyota has done a good job with the various options and packages for the 2010 Prius. Also, I think that they have made enough improvements in the vehicle to warrant serious consideration by Prius I and II folks. I'm a II type of guy (2006) and will be trading in my vehicle. There is nothing wrong with my II (2006). But, I will be trading in this vehicle for the III (2010). Again, Toyota has done a good job with their new models and option packages.

Someone on this thread recommended using claying to protect the finish of our new Prius.:mod:

We watched all of the videos and read all of the reviews, but my husband was still skeptical.
He emailed Toyota asking them if it was a recommended.

They responded that not only was it not recommended but the use would void the warranty because it removes some of the top coat and even some paint!
