Prius IV - Winter Gray Metallic, Dark Gray interior, solar sunroof - PICS!

I realize that this is a double post, so if it truly offends anyone, I am deeply sorry. If it is so harsh that this post or the other needs to be removed, so be it.

I got to thinking about how much I've been endlessly searching things like "winter gray metallic" and "dark gray interior" (since that's what I knew I would be getting), and wanting to see picture examples and of the same specific color combinations, etc.

My goal is for this thread to hopefully turn up in some other people's searches... instead of the "picture" thread showing up, which they would then have to search through 70+ pages to find what they were trying to see.
Perhaps there should be a separate, dedicated and general "show off your car's pics" sub-forum instead of a single thread?
Maybe it's just another one of my bad ideas...

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

:) Finally! It showed up late last night sometime after the dealership had already closed. Then, like clockwork, I receive a call at 9:05 this morning to let me know it is there and being cleaned for me!

It's a IV with the sunroof & navigation, Winter Gray Metallic paint, dark gray interior, remote start, carpet mat set, and the door sill enhancements.

I went straight from the dealership and had the windows tinted.
They are 30% on the front doors, and 20% on the rest.
I only put about 60-70 miles on it today, but those were 60-70 very enjoyable miles. I brought the manuals inside and plan to look them over tonight. I suspect that it will take a while to really settle in and get comfortable and used to driving this thing.

So far, I love it and have no regrets.
In regards to the seat comfort (which I've seen debate about recently), I find the seats to be more comfortable, supportive, and cushier than I remember them being when I originally testdrove a Gen III.

I love how responsive the brakes are... and the sound of the regenerative braking!
My parents road along to go out to eat. They rode in the back and kept commenting on how much roomier it seemed than their '07 they had a little while back.

With a little tweaking, I was pleasantly surprised at the stereo's sound quality. For a stock system, it ain't bad at all... very decent bass and highs. I love the fact that there are 6x9's in the front doors! (can't wait to custom build a sub enclosure!!) Some high quality 6x9's will also be an awesome upgrade eventually.

I think it will take me a little bit to figure out what all the different screens are and what's being represented on the HSI. (for example - the different trips, how to reset them, which MPG is showing the overall vs. trip MPG, and whatever else. It's all still pretty new to me, but I'm a fast learner.)

I'm also pleasantly surprised and not disappointed by the navigation system. I can tell that it has a very decent amount of features, but will indeed take a little learning and customizing.

My iPhone synced up and transferred my contacts like a charm.
The voice control for cell phone and navigation surprised the heck out of me with its accuracy. Really... I played with it a good bit, and only had to repeat something once.
I love how it will list several other choices for you to choose from, that may sound similar to what you meant to access.

One question: Are there two types of door sill enhancements??
The door sill enhancements don't illuminate!!
I was expecting to get the illuminated door sills.
The ones I was givendo look cool and stylish, but are pretty bare.
I was really looking forward to the glowing Prius logo and HSD emblem. :(

I know my salesman fairly well, so hopefully he will rectify this situation. I'm sure it wasn't a conscious deception of any kind.
I'm just wondering if there are indeed two types of door sill enhancements, or for whatever reason, I wasn't given the illuminated ones. :(
I'll take some up-close pics of the door sills tomorrow to show here.

My only gripes so far are that I wish I had an iPod interface instead of having to directly control it (which I can temporarily live with)... and that I was given the wrong door sills. (or whatever happened!!)
It just confuses me, because in the Toyota Prius brochure AND on their website, I remember seeing only one kind of door sill - the illuminated type. That's what I paid for.

Anyway... here are a bunch of pics I took today. I brought the girlfriend along. She was also looking forward to checking out the Prius! However, as you can tell in one of the photos, I think she started to get a little impatient with my gawking and picture taking. ;)

ps - I ordered some HID lights from MobileHID.com and plan to have them installed sometime this week or next. At that time, I'll take a bunch of pics of those too!

pps - If anyone cares, mine came with the Yokohama whatever model tires.

ppps - I just realized that I forgot to inquire about changing the reverse warning beeps, seatbelt beeps, etc. Back to the dealership tomorrow!

That is the exact same combination I'm getting (except the sunroof). It looks really good! I'm especially happy with the "Business like" look it has, which is exactly what I need, since the car will also function as my "Business Card" so to say.

    Thanks for your post! :)

(So now I'll go back to biting my nails and pray the car gets here next week friday and not with another week's delay...)

    haha! I hear ya!
I've literally dreamt about this car several times over the past couple weeks, and also literally torn a few nails to shreds!
It's everything I hoped and expected it to be.
Hang on! The wait is worth it!

I'm glad to see that this thread has already served its purpose.

Congrats! Seems like you were on edge waiting for this to come along, lol. I really love the winter gray (it was my first color choice, but the wife decided against it when we felt how much heat it absorbed on the dealer lot). I've only seen one other 2010 on the road since we bought ours on June 25th, and that was a barcelona red at the Sam's club on airline.

So glad you got it! Thanks for sharing the pics. I think I am going to email my dealer and tell him I prefer the dark gray interior over misty.

hehe! My paperwork actually just says gray. We're getting whichever we can get, but I was just saying if there was a choice... :)

Well... something like that, but with more activity than that. (In my fantasy version, anyway.) So far this year, there's only been thirteen posts in there. Maybe if it was a part of the Gen III forum, it would get more attention... or maybe it all doesn't even matter.
I just wasn't sure if the proper or best place to post pics along with a bunch of review and information would be in the pic thread or as its own thread. With the pic thread, if someone is searching for certain keywords and the the official picture thread shows up as a result, the searcher still needs to sift through a gigantic thread...right? Or is there a way to go straight to your search terms in the returned thread?

Well that's why I try to move posts around and "advertise" if you will, the quieter sections of PriusChat. I've been posting in the Canadian forum to try and jump start that area. We've had the dealers post in the dealership section (and encourage people to post their experiences in that forum too) to help get that area rolling.

So far, it seems that thread works lol. One can just peruse the entire thread. Granted, if you wanted to find a certain colour that might be hard. Hmm, I just got an idea. What if we have colour sections so that people can browse pics of that colour?

That could be cool, but I also think having them all together is cool.
The separation might cause limited activity to some of them. As long as people used good, descriptive thread title's (which should always be done anyway), having everything in one place would be convenient and beneficial I think.

Leading up to getting my prius, I knew that I wanted a sunroof on either a Blizzard Pearl w/ bisque interior or a Winter Gray Metallic w/ dark gray interior. It was a pain trying to find pics of those exact combinations.

I just wish there was a more effective way of searching and finding exactly what you want a lot quicker and easier... but that would probably take more than just a knew forum or section... it would take a standard posting form/protocol, and also cooperation of posters.
I don't know what I'm talking about anymore.....

    I'm falling asleep.....

lol. Since we can't control the thread title, the best we can do is create sections so at least you can confine yourself to a certain area. That'll take less time to browse through than searching the entire forum.
