It seems some of the things on wishlists are available as aftermarket accessories in Japan from Toyota.

    1) two-color interior footlamp LEDs for ALL seats 15,750yen
    2) plastic cover/door for under-console storage area 13,650yen
    3) rear seat storage box (between foot-wells) 6,300yen
    4) two or four-corner bumper sensors 29,400/49,350yen
    5) auto tilt-down side-mirrors 12,600yen

I wonder if the tilt-down mirrors will work in the US...

My only complaint about the car so far is the difficulty in securing a canoe. I would change the configuration of the hard points at the front and rear to make this easier.

At the rear there is only one hardpoint and it is off center. At a minimum there should be one in the center, but two off to each side would be more useful.

The eyebolt system at the front works, but it would be better if there was a couple of lugs just below the bumper like in most other vehicles.

    The mirror would probably say:

    接近しているオブジェクトよりも表示されるミラー

    instead of:

Objects in mirror are closer than they appear

ps - sorry if that didn't translate well. It's the best Google can do :)

After owning a Gen II, I got spoiled with the extra storage space and the 3 door locking system. My dealer didn't tell me that Pkgs 2 & 3 on the Gen III didn't have the 3 door lock system. I had to tell him after I got the car home and figured it out. Hopefully he'll remember to give this info to someone else who's looking and has a Gen II. I might have gone up to Pkg 4 if known.

Being said, I still have no regrets with the car...I really love it. Get lots of stares since every single one I've seen around town is Silver and mine is Blue Ribbon.

I love the center console...the first time I saw the interior of the 2010 I thought the center console made it look some kind of spacecraft. For better or worse, it was one of the things that sold me on the car.

Allow the A/C to be started off of a timer. Currently have solar with remote A/C but need to be in range to turn it on for max run time of 3min batt. willing. If you could set start time in alarm clock fashion everyone could enjoy not just Solar optioned cars and remote a/c key fob.

I have a White Pkg V and I love it, First time Prius Owner Too... but if i could change some things, I would try to give it a little better visibility every where... Fix the back up camera to give you a better view of the corners or install the prox. sensors. But thous are all minor things..... my biggest thing I would fix is the Nav system... little dissaponted with the resolution as well as the functionality of it.... they so could of put more effort into it and made it a lot more user friendly. Im hopeing they come out with an updated version of the software some day(sooner rather then later).

I took delivery on June 26th and have driven nearly 1,000 miles since then, including a road trip this weekend. My only issues are with the interior noise level and the complexity of the parking assist. I reside in a major city where the "wonderful citizens" :censored: will not wait while I attempt to use this feature. Otherwise, I am a happy camper. :thumb:

So why not make the Prius a little more sports car like? How about a two door coupe along with a better suspension.

Toyota is trying to save you from yourself, SureValla. Those plastic bottles are giving off bad chemicals, aren't they?

Re the OP, I would like the radio & temperature displays to be brighter! My tired, old eyes can't easily see the data being displayed. Then again, perhaps Toyota is trying to save my eyes from exposure to  !!!

Better satellite radio audio package is needed.

    Can you explain this statement?
What could have been done better?
I think the audio placement, the tabbing of the folder style applications, and the fact that the XM involves the Nav and traffic... I think it rocks!

Yes, likewise I was attracted to the center console layout on the 2010 Prius.

I wish the Prius V in Canada can be ordered with NAV and solar panels/moonroof. It would have been a perfectly spec'd car for me. ;)

The only way to get NAV and solar panels here would be to ante up to the Technology Package....but no 17" wheels.tires!

Would you want the DVD screens built into the back of the headrests? I like your list...sounds like quite a car! Maybe this is what they should have in the HS250h?

I totally agree! I hate that rear window split, aerodynamics notwithstanding. A locking glove box would be nice, but I figure once someone is inside your car, the glove box is the least of your worries.

Not going to happen in a Toyota for quite a few years. They're going to reserve most of these for Lexus, especially while the technologies are new.
