I swear I read somewhere that you shouldn't use "just any old" seat cover on a Gen III because you might cover up some vent that the hybrid system needs.

I also read that any vehicle with side impact airbags needs seatcovers that will not interfere with them.

Is anyone using seatcovers on their Gen III? I'm a notorious klutz who likes to drink in the car and always use some sort of seat cover to mitigate the damage.

Are there "special" seat covers or will any old ones work?

I know there is an intake vent facing forward on the side of the rear passenger seat. The vent cools the battery I think. Not sure of any other vents or airbag considerations.

Plan to get covers as well but haven't researched it. Already decided there will be no eating in the car because I'm accident prone, drinking will be limited to bottles. Also the leather seats are perforated and I think a cream type cleaner or conditioner would leave residue inside the little holes. The residue could then collect dust and get gunked up. Until I know better will just vacuum or dust the seats.

I'm going to pick up Clazzio seat covers right now. Not cheap but they look really good. The US distributer has a 2010 Prius as their "display car".

Didn't see the "display car" but there is a video on YouTube. Doesn't look like these account for the side airbags though.

Those look great - but I'm confused about the whole slip on thing. How do those feel to sit on? Can you tell the cloth is still underneath? Do they appear cheap or odd in person?

They are airbag compatible. The car in the youtube video is the display car that I was talking about. They also have a Honda Insight at the shop.

It took me about 4 hours to install them. Now that it's done I could easily do it again in half the time. They look and feel great. They are tight so they look and feel like OEM seats.

Hi! That's good to hear. Can you feel the cloth seats underneath them? Can you see the webbing stuff they use to connect the seats? Or is it all pretty dang stealth?

Not sure what you mean by "feel the cloth seats". Let me know what exactly you want me to descibe. As for webbing/straps. Everything is hidden and you can't see anything.

By far the hardest part was the back seat. The documentation isn't very good. It tells you very basic step by step instructions but no derails. That is where the extra time comes into play. Not knowing how to get the back seat out and how to put it back took a while.

    Hi rstark18,

Thank you for the reply. It appears in the video that these leather seat covers go on top of the cloth seats. So that means there are two layers seating material on top of the cushions (one layer of cloth, one layer of leather.) When you sit down on the seats, does it feel like you are just sitting on a cheap leather cover, or does it feel like it's a legitimate leather seat?

(Also does it include the door panel leather and the center console leather?)

    Thank you
    RP1

Edit: Also, is there a "Clazzio" logo embroidered on the seat?

The seat covers feel almost like OEM leather. I would say the bottom (where you sit) feel 100%. You can not tell you're sitting on seat covers at all. The back has a little (very little) gap between the spine area. This is because the covers are so tight that the shape of the seat creates this. It doesn't bother me at all and does not feel weird in any way. I'll take few quick pics if I have time today.

It include the center consoles but not the door panels. The gray matches very close to the door panal though.

There is NOT a Clazzio emblem on the seats. There is a small Clazzio tag in the same area where the SRS airbag tag is.

Damn, you've totally sold me on them! Thank you very much, I was about to spend some $900 on Katskinz. These appear to be about $450, thank you kindly.

My last question - their website shows they just have "gray" as a color - do you have the misty gray or ash gray interior color? The seats in the video seem to be a basic gray color.

Your seats look great! Could someone tell me what Clazzio's official website is? When I do a Google search I only come up with "JDM Link up", is that the right site to be ordering from?

I believe their official site is: ELEVEN ON THE WEB - For Car Amenity...

I contacted someone on some website and found this email: [email protected] (guys name is Yoji) and he sells the seats. He offered them to me for $450 with free shipping. Edit: This is the contact for the JDM Link Up website you mentioned. He's legit.

    I hope that helps.

There are four colors (ivory, beige, gray, black). I have the misty gray interior which is two toned. One of the reasons I decided to get seat covers is because the misty gray is so light. I figured it would get dirty looking pretty fast.

I believe the US distributer is ELEVEN ON THE WEB - For Car Amenity... . Most of the Toyota dealers around SoCal carry these seat covers (and charge to install them). I believe they get them from 11i-usa.

I have the ash gray interior and I'm up in the air about getting either the light or dark gray color. I think the light gray color would lighten up the interior, but I worry if it would look totally out of place ??

The Clazzio's only come in one shade of gray. Where did you see different shades?

When I was about to place my order, in the email he asked if I wanted light gray or dark gray. I emailed him back asking if he meant that the light gray is Clazzio's ivory color, and that the dark gray was Clazzio's gray color. He hasn't replied yet.

Was your interior dark or misty gray? Does the Clazzio gray color seem to match a stock color?

    Thank you as always
    :)

My int is Misty and the gray seems very close to the gray inserts in the door, not exactly but close. Here is Clazzio's color chart:
