Problems with navigation and radio when driving on freeway

I picked up my 2010 package V w/ATP three weeks ago. Everything was fine until last weekend. I got on the freeway that I drive on daily and the freeway exits came up on the navigation screen as they always do but now they just sit there saying "calculating" and don't turn off until I get off the freeway. Now the strange part...
everything that is connected with the navigation system (i.e. phone, radio controls, power, all on-screen buttons, etc.) have a 25-30 second delay. For instance, if I try to turn up the volume by pressing the button on the steering wheel or by turning the volume knob, there is no change for 25-30 seconds for the volume to respond. If I press the volume knob to turn it off, it takes another 25-30 seconds to turn off. This happens with everything connected with the navigation system. When I get off the freeway and the freeway exit screen is gone, everything works like it should. I have not made any changes whatsoever to any of the settings since I got the car. Is anybody else seeing this problem?

Wow!!! How fast are you going on that freeway? Einstein told us as you approach the speed of light time slows down.

I only test drove mine the other day before it's delivery Friday 08/21, and it is also a V version. The Nav worked as it should. One question I had is what settings did you change when this started to happen?? Auto Reroute?? Can you disable to see if it makes a difference?

LOL! I am driving the speed limit which is 65.
I have the settings on the factory default. It worked fine for the first two weeks then all of a sudden it quit. I even pressed the default option today before I got on the freeway but nothing. Auto reroute is not turned on.

I have a new V with Nav that had the same problem the first time on the freeway. I found that if I went into the map display option that the freeway split screen option was turned on but no destination was set in the Nav system. The system got into an endless calculation loop. I turned off the freeway split screen and the problem went away. The option is now grayed out and not available unless I put in a destination requiring a freeway route. There is no info in the instructions about this quirk.

    Ahem.
Honey, you just spent $32K on a car... possibly 33K - why doncha go right to the local dealership, and show them? I'd be doing a recalibration -- or namely, the tech would, because you have a warranty and a dealership happy to help, I am certain.

I had a V package refuse to park itself and after a few tries, I got it to the tech and he did a reset and all was well.......

I tried switching it to single mode. Once it finally changed, all was well until I exited the freeway, turned around, and got back on. Once again the nav went back into freeway mode and just sat there saying calculating again. I am going to do just what Dianne said and let the dealer fix it.

OK - I have a theory here ... I'm not so certain it's a reset issue. Call me? Be sitting in the car with the NAV on when you do. I want to have you try something.

I have had my Prius for a little over a year now, and it just began having the exact same problem. Unfortunately my warranty is expred (I have a 100-mile/day commute...hence the switch from a 4Runner to the Prius). Did you ever find a solution to this problem? I actually use the freeway split-screen often, and don't feel like we should have to "settle" for turning off this feature just so everything else will work properly. Thanks!
