    Am I missing something?

Why does the A/C display show the outside temp and the desired temp setting, but does not show the interior temp?

I think most cars don't show the interior temp. Maybe the logic is that the cabin is so small that it doesn't take that long to get to the desired temp, unlike your house. So why add the hardware/software for something that will usually display the same number as the desired temp readout.

You are correct, the (2) Temps are the SET TEMP for interior heat/cool, and Exterior Temp. I have never run into a car that had a "Thermostat" that would indicate the interior temp...

I just wish the display had some colour, instead of looking like a 1980 comoutor screen

I agree, wouldn't it be nice to see COLOR LCD with Blues for cool and Red's for warm etc..Better graphics in the Climate Control for sure, more like the NAV...agreed. I still want Heads up display option too...

I know what you mean... If it had to be lcd like it is, I wish the climate control screen as well as the buttons around the nav screen etc lit up more of a blue-blue/green to better match the color of the dash lights. Not a big thing but would have just blended more with the tech theme of the Prius imo.

I'd give up the self park from the ATP to get the heads up display... It's a cool gimmick but I just don't use it, nowhere near as much as the ultra nifty and useful DRCC and LKA.

Just curious, might I ask...what make/model car have you owned that has shown the interior temp?

Have owned several Chev's and other Toyota models and all just showed the outside and the temperature I dialed in which I wanted for the inside. Actually thought I was going to miss dual temp controls for the driver and passenger, but the car is small enough, that it hasn't been an issue.

    Thanks.

I would agree except that it is only a software change. There's got to be a temperature sensor somewhere inside the cabin otherwise the A/C would not have anything to compare setpoint to.

I think it would be a fun challenge to anyone with a tech manual to find where the internal temp sensor is located.

The set point displayed is a relative number anyway, but it is more user friendly than just a dial with hot and cold. I would think that a cabin temp display would be about as useful as the temp display in the house.

But it can be 70 in the front seat and 80 in the back, just like the temp on your thermostat at home only tells you the temp at that location.

I too would like to know where the sensor is located.

The OP never said he/she had a vehicle that had that, just that they thought this would be in the Prius. He/she could be like me, I have only had older cars before this so this is the first time I have had a car with a thermostat-type situation instead of just basic on/off buttons. I too at first thought there would be an interior temp displayed. I guess we are just transferring our expectations from dealing with home thermostats, but it seems that's just not how it's done in cars.

All my trucks/cars have been analog. This is the first digital display I have ever had on the hvac controls.

According to TIS, the room temperature sensor is located in the center dash, basically behind the AC control panel, maybe a bit closer to the start button, as far as I can see from the drawing.

As an interesting side note, both the temperature sensor readout and temperature set point controls can be fine tuned +/- 2 degrees using the Techstream tool. I would have thought the actual numbers were not meaningful, as suggested by a previous poster, but then it wouldn't make sense to calibrate them to that level if they didn't actually mean something.

Sure it wasn't the solar panels keeping it cool?

    While driving?
Does not solar panels fans only work when the car is parked?

You didn't say you were driving =P.

Yeah I find mine auto A/C quite aggressive. I have mine set at 25°C even when it's 30°C outside.
