My wheelskins steering wheel

    I did the baseball stitching. Uses two pieces of string. Takes longer but not really hard. I borrowed a baseball to kind of follow the pattern. The wheelskin folks are as good as any company I have ever dealt with. Top notch IMHO.

    The leather tends to dry out and get brittle. It loses its soft feel. And, yes, it tends to also lose color, although I have used shoe dye to re-color (however, you need to polish the heck out of it afterword with a towel so it doesn't tend to come off on the hands).
