They had another post on here which I responded to with some questions. I had asked whether or not the modifications would void the warranty... if so, don't think I'll be interested. And no, I haven't heard back from them...

First thing, I live in Torrance!
Second, I don't know how this RnD benefits the car owner. I have 2010 Prius. Anybody can shed some light?

They test the products on your car... at times for your time they can give the product to you. Or it depends... if it's a very expensive one probably give it to you very cheap.

HI MPG... any mods will void warranty. Best thing you can do is take off that mod when you need a warranty done.

Yes - it seems they don't have the fastest response - I'm out - but good luck to the winner... If you're interested in ever having a hitch - be sure to check ahead of time...

funny. i thought about that today when a civic, with a fart can, went by me.

    what would a prius do?

start out quiet until 30 mph, engine kicks in and creates said fart can noise?

    kind of strange.

don't waste your time or money on an exhaust system. it won't get you anything except tickets.

Haven't heard back from them, so I'm not sure if they found someone. I didn't email them as they suggested in their original post, but I was hoping they were read these posts and have a response.

There's your answer. Besides ... what's wrong w/ the existing suspension?!? It's better than Gen II IMO, even WITH the stiffening plate on the Gen II. But heck, if you don't need a warranty ... & you really like the 'slammed' look ... maybe that's what they have in mind. who knows.

I 100% agree. My wife owns the Gen II, and it just doesn't handle quite like the Gen III. It's just a case or curiosity getting the cat... and from the few pictures that they posted of the suspension mod on the Gen II, the car did not look slammed at all.
I guess if I want better handling, I should try to coerce a Package IV owner to swap their 17s with me. :thumb:

If they are testing springs... Most likely it will not be slammed. Can't really slam a car with just springs unless you cut it. Coilovers in other hand will do the slamming job. Springs will most likely drop it slightly and give you slight better handling vs stock.

    Not true under the law.

Toyota would have to show causality, i.e., that the modification caused the damage to the part that you're seeking warranty work on.

    Hello all,

Sorry for the slow response. And yes, we did get a lot of emails from Prius owners regarding our R&D Session, which turns out was the best way to make contact.

HI MPG, I believe we spoke over the phone about your warranty concerns. If there are any other specific questions, please send over a PM. In the meantime, I'll try to find that other post you all were talking about and respond there.
