Today I went to my dealership to pick up my loaner while my 2010 is in transit. There was a V on the floor so I decided to play around with it while my sales associate took care of another customer. All I can say is WOW!!!

This is such an upgrade in comfortability over my 2008's non-leather. The car seems like it was tailor-made for someone of my size (5'8" male of average weight). You'd think they'd add the power seats for this price, but I don't think I'd ever have to adjust the seat after the first ride. I am in love with this car already.

Have people complimented any of you on the looks of the car? I think the aesthetics are such an upgrade over the second generation. It's a very classy looking car now.

I have actually had quite a few people ask me while going slow through a neighborhood or in a parking lot "Hey, it that the new Prius? Wow, it looks so much better than the old one..." I tell them Thanks, but you have got to sit in both to really appreciate the improvements. I know some just don't like the new interior, but speaking for myself, I love it. Much of an improvement over the GII. Are there things I wish were different, yes, but overall I think the changes made were for the better.

    Nooaah/Paradox,

Couldn't agree more. Bought the V myself, actually fell in love with the IV that first came in with Leather and figured if I liked that one as much as I did, the V with the options I wanted would only be icing on the cake and it was!

The seats are probably some of the most comfortable I have sat in. Maybe factory versus aftermarket don't know but they are firm and I don't get fatigued driving in them. The early GEN I had was awful...I thought I needed a Massage after a hour ride! (Not that a massage wouldn't be a bad idea)....:)

But the 2010 -IV or V with leather is pretty swift! Everyone at my job who has seen it, has been impressed with the comfort, Interior Room, and feature laden / technology for a smaller car footprint....

56.7 Lifetime MPG @ 1400 miles now...(still early) but loving it.;)

My wife and I pulled into Honey Baked Ham the other day for lunch, and a middle aged man coming out of that store, stuck his head in the window and asked how we liked the car, he said "man it must be expensive", after chating with him for awhile, I told him that the Prius II and III's started at around $23,000 to $24,000 rspectively, he was astounded. I suspect he left there direct for the Toyota store!

Most of the current owners (who are not buying a 2010) say there is not that much difference, or that they don't like the new one. I fell in love with the 2010 as soon as I saw it. Never would have considered an older one. I do see the similarities but the difference in style is quite noticable to me. Lovin' my V

I was regularly hitting 55-57mpg with my 2008 in 55+ degree weather without really hypermiling much. I'm way too excited to see what I can do with the gen III. I got 57.8 mpg driving clear across Pennsylvania on the turnpike. I'd be shocked if the next time I do that I get below 60. Honestly, though, if I keep it in power mode all the time and get similar mileage as I did with the II I'll never utter a single complaint.

I was driving to work this morning and saw a Toyota coming my way on the other side of the road. I thought, "wow, that's a really nice looking Toyota, which one is it?" Duh, it was a GenIII. I am so used to seeing the GenII's from the front that I do not even recognize what the front of my own car looks like.

When I first saw one I thought it looked like a Pace Car.

Neighbors have already complimented on it, although they did not know it was a Prius. Once they knew, became even more complimentary about the gas savings.

We fell in love with the Prius after accidentally getting a gen 2 rental while in california about a month ago. We had never even considered one before that. It was outrageous fun looking at the star trek console and trying to get good mileage. The gen 2 actually is better than the gen 3 i think in this way.

On the other hand, the gen 3 we just got (IV) has a much better overall interior, although it could simply be because we have the leather seats and optional cr*p like nav and sunroof

That actually bummed me out about the MFD. It seems like it's the same system as my dad's 2009 Camry hybrid, which I'm not a fan of.
