You are welcome. I just checked carmax.com, found some local numbers and called randomly. I would assume they have some stores near you.

Sleepingduty, did you place your order with a smaller dealership? TMS (Toyota Motor Sales) assigns vehicles based on volume and turn rate. A smaller dealership or a dealership that doesn't have a strong history of hybrid sales recieves fewer vehicles.

I took the liberty of looking at GST's allocation of Prius Vs. There aren't many. Your location is listed as Plainview, Tx. Are you in the Plainview in the Panhandle?

Currently there is one pre-sold Prius V in Barcelona red coming into GST.

Normally it takes approximately 6-8 weeks for me to preference order a Prius. Then again I am at one of the largest Prius volume dealers in the region.

Let me know what you are looking for in equipment and such and I will see what's coming in to the GST area.

All I can say is wait for what you want. I ordered mine the end of June also and it came in 2 weeks ago. I'm glad I waited. If you think about how long you're going to have the car and be driving it the wait is worth it. The dealer had called me a few times with different models or color choices, then 2 days after his last try he called to say he found the exact car. Keep the faith :D

Hi and thanks for your response! Yes, I am in the panhandle of TX, dealing with a hometown dealer that is very small (and probably so are his allocation numbers). I am looking for a barcelona red/charcoal grey prius V with the advanced technology package. I originally ordered one with just the nav,and decided I would really like the one with the ATP. Thanks again for your help, everybody on priuschat is moving me closer to my dreamcar....maybe by Christmas!

Okay that explains why you have been waiting so long. The smaller dealers with a low volume may not even recieve a Prius a month on their allocation.

Frankly there aren't many Vs with ATs coming in but a larger. For this month GST recieved 2 Prius Vs in Barcelona Red (03r3) with the AY (Technology Package), both of which were sold.

PM me with your information and I will see what is in the pipeline for the GST region. I will provide you with my contact information.

Sleepingduty, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there are exactly 25 of them in the entire country matching your description (Barc red with Gray, advanced tech pkg.). These numbers do not include the GST or SET regions. Most of the AY packages are heading into the west coast region. Us in the midwest get about 10 AY's for 114 dealers per month. Last month there were exactly zero of them... :(

ToyotaFleetManager, is it possible for your dealer daily to see outside of the GST region? I can see the entire country except for GST and SET regions. Between the 2 of us, we should be able to see the whole country and help sleepingduty out.

My dealer daily sees GST only and from what I understand SET only sees SET.

That is what I thought, but I haven't had the opportunity to ask someone in the respective regions.

It sounds as if there are only going to be 35 tops to choose from in the country. And of those 35, 34 are already reserved....Either change color, or better yet, drop the AY package..

If you need a co-driver, I am 2 hours south of Memphis and will help drive to Texas for air fare home. It is a 800 mile, 12.5 hour drive according to Google Maps

    Yes, Jeff
You're right about most of the AY packages going to the west coast. I've been in contact with 2 dealers in CA well known to priuschat members and I have to say that both of them have offered to try to get me the car quick, The problem is that I will have to increase the cash outlay, my time and expense in order to get my dream car. I told my dealer 2 days ago that I would be willing to settle for a blizzard pearl/dk charcoal V with the AY package. He seemed to think that it might give him more options to find me the car. So I think I will try to wait and see what he can come up with, and if I can't find it within a month or so, I will seriously look for the closest dealer that has it and can give me the best out the door price. Thanks Jeff, for your interest and offer to help me out.

Hi and thanks for your offer to codrive from Memphis! I ended up talking to the dealer in Memphis, the car already had 35 miles on it and would only take $200 off MSRP. I told him I was't interested. I am really amazed at the generousity of priuschat members and certainly appreciate all the offers everyone has given in terms of their time and efforts to help me find my car!

Just out of curiosity, you didn't turn that deal down because you thought you could get a better discount somewhere else, did you?

Also waiting since July 11 for Barcelonia Red, Dark Gray IV w/ solar in Brooklyn NY. Does anybody know about the allocations for the northeast area? My dealer offered me one w/ light tan interior about a month ago but since this is such a large purchase, I said I would hold out for the dark gray. I am hoping to get it before the sales tax credit runs out at the end of the year.

You know they say a bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush...but yes the dealer I am working with offered me a much better offer. There is also a larger dealer in Amarillo that doesn't have the car, but were offering $200 off MSRP. I think I can possibly put down a refundable deposit with them, and save myself a lot of driving and hassle. (And miles on my new prius). So that's why I made that decision.:D

Which Prius is the easiest to get. I am thinking of getting a basic III. Is that easier than the V?

I think a basic III will be much easier to get. I have limited my choices by staying with a specific color and the V's with the ATP in red are rare indeed. If you pick a couple of colors it will increase your chances of success much quicker. Good luck:D

Glad to help Kathy. But honestly, if the Memphis dealer had one on the lot, you should probably grab it if you are hoping to get it before christmas. From this point on, all the cars will have a $400 price increase anyway. So that deal is about 600 off the list of all future ones. Just something to think about.

They do... but you will pay more for cash. Remember, they don't have that x$ involved with financing. And they can play with the interest rates too.

That is illegal. Against truth in lending laws. The price must be the same regardless of how you pay for it. If I offer up a price based on a finance contract expecting to get some additional profit and you change your mind and pay cash, I am breaking several federal laws if I tell you that I now have to raise the price.

Not exactly, when you sign the contract is with the finance provided with the dealer, the dealer can say the contract is voided if you pay cash. So it is not illegal. You will have to renegotiate another contract or different price.
