This is a photo from cars.com of the "2010 GMC Terrain". My first thought was 'is it still above the terrain?'

I have no sense of esthetics but even I think this looks at best tacky. Can anyone explain the attraction?

It does nothing for me. I also dislike the Chrysler 300 and the really low Dodge wagon that has small windows.....can't recall the model. I DO like the re-birth of the Challenger, much better than the styling of the Mustang re-do.

It looks imposing, muscular. It scars you looking at it in your rear view mirror. Great for those who needs a ego fix.

Big giant grilles are very popular with knuckle-draggers and the egotistical who are trying to show they are big men. :) Look at the trend with grille size/prominence since the early 90's.

I'm with you FWD. Personally I think the front is ok looking, but those bulged out side fenders are nasty.

To me, a grill like that says, "intimidate the car in front of you."

If you looks at the fronts of many "muscle cars" these days, they actually look mean with headlights that look like they are squinting eyes.

I think the enormous "mouth" is an appropriate image ... after all, they are gobbling up the taxpayers money fast and furious ... and asking for more.

Raise the hood a little bit more, lower the roof slightly, then add this grille cover:

    Perfect fit.

I don't care for it, but I won't call it ugly.
I prefer the Mustang over the Challenger, but I grew up with a red '69 convertible, so I have a soft spot. In terms of performance, the Mustang is the leader of the new pony cars.

    {If you looks at the fronts of many "muscle cars" these days, they actually look mean with headlights that look like they are squinting eyes.}

    Designers use the term aggressive.
The furrowed brow/ hoodline and extending front bumper on the Mustang and 80's BMWs can be of use on the track. It's called a splitter and provides downforce to help the front wheels stick.

the responses tell more about the responder than they do about the car

there's a lot of insecurity here guys

cars are taster's choice, i may like or dislike the esthetics, i may overlook the esthetics if i'm in love with the vehicles utility and function

i don't judge others, or try guess the size and shape of their genitalia, by the car they drive

    wow

    Pot meet Kettle........

I sold performance parts for a living and raced cars/trucks for just as long and I'm a firm believer that stereotypes exist for a reason.
