I suppose it had to do with the crappy truncated delivery process that my salesman performed at time of delivery. Granted, I showed up early, but there was no reason not to make arrangements with another person to tell me about the various functions and settings of the V.

My salesman basically handed me the key to my V and only because I asked a few questions did he spend no more than 10 minutes prior to walking off to deal with another customer. So I guess dealers do care when you make negative comments during their phone inquiries about the sales experience.

Not only did the salesman call me and tell me he was available to show me any of the functions, I received in the mail a coupon for a FREE 5k oil service.

I have had the V for about a week now and while it certainly is not an LP560, it serves its purpose.

And lastly, thanks to Priuschat for its wealth of information.

Same here. Been debating whether to use it or not. Lot of horror stories on here about people's first oil change and the dealers not knowing or doing what they are suppose to.

My dealer will give me one free oil change. I have to pay for any additionial servicing, like tire rotation. I don't know if it's worth the worry- my salesman told me that their service department is "award winning", but I have bad memories from my local VW dealership servicing my VW New Beetle when it was new and having MORE problems after I got it back from them a few times due to their negligence...makes me wonder if they think they have some kind of job security by forcing their buyers to return to the dealership.

not to beat a dead horse, but i don't let the dealer touch my car except for "make goods"

i don't think a free oil change is really free

last "free" oil change i got at a dealership, they stripped my oil pan threads using air tools

    so much for free

i did an oil change today ... got five quarts of Mobil AFE 0W30 at Walmart for $20, and another $2.50 for a SuperTech filter ...,

it takes me longer to do my laundry than it does to change the oil

any locals need an oil change ... shoot me a PM

I know I have to post this in the oil thread also (at some point)
I received 1 free oil change coupon when I went to the new car care thing that most dealers have (I did not receive one from the other dealer I purchased the IV from at all), on my new V w/AT and they specially (several times at least) stated they use the oil it says on the oil cap (so our Prius's state 0-20 on the cap and that is what they use).

I had one of the cars done so far by them and they screwed up in the billing of me (they swore up and down they put the right oil in, just charged me the wrong amount, and next time it will cost me ~$44).

That meeting that I went to they were actually very informative and seem to know what they are doing (this is the first time in many years that I have actual faith in a dealer, I hope it holds true forever and they live up to their knowledge).

    Good luck to all!!!

Nope! I never received one freebee from my dealer. You guys have a good dealer there. This being my first new car, I didn't think that anywhere else would be any different. Live and learn....

Most dealers will give you the first oil change for free. They will try to charge you an arm and a leg for tire rotation but you don't have to do it. When I purchased by car I asked for 5 free oil changes which I got to make the deal.

No coupons, but I was informed upon my first oil change at my selling dealer than the first three were free. If I want Yellow or Green service (5k or 15k), I'd simply pay the difference.

No coupon for free oil change - but a service credit of $500 that should cover a few years of service. I wonder if this is just different in Canada?
