Why? In Japan they would be more proud to keep it "Toyota." Toyota's luxury line in Japan is still "Toyota."

Actually, the modifiers over there mostly do the Lexus 'upgrades'. All the pieces I've got, the body kit, etc., have all been thru the assistance of major Japanese Prius customizers over there. They were gracious enough to let me know what everyone over there was doing so that I could get the parts to do it as well. Since I bought the Lexus kit, which came with Lexus emblems, it was only logical to do what the others over there do when they are doing the Lexus mods, which is to have the Lexus engine cover, as well as the steering wheel. It has nothing to do with being proud of Toyota or Lexus. I had originally taken OFF the Toyota emblems because they are so fugly-looking (the "T" just looks bizarre to me). So that had nothing to do with me being proud of keeping it a Toyota. I just hated the Toyota emblems...
