... May of 2014, I entered my MR2 Supercharged at my very first corporation car show: Nitto's Enthusiast Day at Anaheim Stadium. Big mistake. What a waste of time. Such a poorly planned event. Nitto staffers parading themselves about the car show like masters of the universe in their black Nitto t-shirts, proved far more interested in our mothers, girlfriends, wives and daughters, than our cars. More keen on procreation than rare vehicles, self-important Nitto staffers were witnessed far and wide wielding insider status, trolling the event in search for young women to proposition. Two drop dead gorgeous females in line, directly directly behind me were approached a horny black-shirt Nitto staffer, and propositioned: "... if you come with me, you won't have to wait in line. I can get you right to the front! And, extra prizes, too!" I stood in line with the other car owners to receive my prize bag: "...SORRY. WE'RE OUT!" Said and done, I took second place honors in Nitto's old school Japanese car category, losing to an old 4-door Datsun 510. Several Nitto black-shirts having arrived at my car for judging, long since having already made up their mind who'd won my category, flat refused to inspect my engine bay. When the senior member of Nitto's judging committee admonished them, "... I TOLD YOU! GET OVER THERE! INSPECT THAT ENGINE BAY!" Three Nitto black shirts begrudgingly walked over, peered in, pain in their faces as they witnessed the awful, terrible site of my spotless engine bay, they turned away in agony and disgust, their prayer for the slightest hint of lint or dust unanswered. Winner of my category, old Asian guy with a 4-door Datsun 510, dared not show his. Ex post the event, Nitto black shirts went to the extent, of deleting all photographs taken, of this car. Before midday, a Nitto photographer set up a tripod, and shot scores photographs. Somebody behind the scenes at Nitto, systematically scrubbed them all. No more corporation car shows for me. Sorriest, most unprofessional excuse for a car show I'd ever attended. Never will I enter a corporation car show, again --
