Now on this 2012 prius the insurance CO told the shop they will only pay for a NON-OE a/c condenser, the body shop did not want to because they have had fitting problems, leaks, and poor a/c performance before. Here I am preforming a A/C recovery service, When I can I test the A/C system before I recover the refrigerant to let the shop know if the A/C was in good working condition when the car came to their shop. I first test the refrigerant to see if it pure and clean no air mixed in it. Then after if they install a poor quality a/c condenser I can compair the before and after pressure reading. This is a great back to back test between OE vs NON-OE condensers. some times there is vary little difference and some a huge difference.
