This is the new A/C compressor with the invert-er and all the electronics located in the top of the compressor. They produce a lot of added HEAT! on top of the hot electric motor it should be more sensitive to burn up if the customer allows the refrigerant to run low or a shop improperly recharges the A/C . I feel sorry for the Prius owner after they get their car repaired at a unknowable body shop or repair shop.
