DENSO condenser, high efficiency parallel flow condenser. This is a cutaway looking at the side into the cooling tubes as you can see the passages are the size of the ball in a ball point pen. This is why a shop should NEVER try to flush a condenser of this type. If a shop dose and the a/c dose not quite work right , fail, or wrong parte may be replaced later because of poor preformance, and the shop thinks they removed all the blockage but did not. This IS ! the frist filter and a vary good one at that. You may only see a little metal flakes on the dryer sock and filter screen, the rest are stuck deep in the small passage in the tubes. This is A/C 101 from almost 20 years ago when they frist introduced parallel flow condensers and if you want to go back almost 30 years it started with serpentine flow condensers. Since many shop owners, service advisers, or TECHs did not even have 2 to 4 years of high school auto shop at least, machine shop and metal shop or welding shop. All this is no longer in our schools and what little is there is a poor excuse for training with the way funding was cut and lawers with law suits and injurys. Lets not even the BIG BAD UNIONS that at one time made a apprentice work next to a Journeyman with 10 to 15 years experince for 4 to 5 years before they can completely work on thier own. At the same time we had to go to the union automotive night and weekend school for that duration of time. now with all that gone its a free for all, any BODY with a hart beat and some what shows up on time will be hired in some shops and guss whos car they get to learn on! ???.
