there is a lot of info on a/c in new cars. 33 years ago when my father started teaching me to repair A/C we had only 4 different compressors, 5 oring sizes, 1 simple mechanical electric thermostat, 1 hot 12 volt wire going to the compressor clutch coil, and ether cables or vacuum controlling the blend doors for heating and cooling. You fixed it with a test light bulb, and one hand full of tools.
