I recently purchased a 2006 Toyota Prius. I decided to clean the rusty brakes by lightly sanding off the excess rust on the rotors, and spraying a rust inhibibitor on some of the brake parts. I have performed this procedure many times on other cars without any problems. But now my parking brake light, my ABS, and my VSC lights are on, and they won't go off. Now only the FRONT RIGHT and LEFT REAR brake seems to be working. I think this is because the computer tells the car to apply DIAGONAL BRAKING in order to keep the car from sliding since the VSC light is on??? I took the car to my local Toyota Dealer, and they are so busy that they will not be able to look at it for a few days. I would like to know if this has happened to anyone else? And, is the Toyota Dealer going to charge me a bundle of money just to reset the computer so that the lights will go off? Thanks for any advice/information.
