I got my clear bra installed today it looks great and now I do not have to worry about getting the front end all tattered up. I put the clear bra on all my cars and with excellent results. I did the whole front bumper and about ¾ of the hood.

did you use a kit? Cost? I had my III done by a shop cost me $600 bucks and had to take it back to fix the mirrors that would not take the bends and stretching. Good protection though. We hit a partial truck tire @ 70mph with no paint damage.

Are these clear bra's going to be good in the long run? My concern is that in 4 or 5 years your paint may get a little dirty/discolored. At that time, you will probably see a very straight line down the middle of your hood where your clear bra was protecting the paint.

    The line would bother me.

Can this happen? Is my concern warranted?

I pulled one off a red Porsche 911 that was put on seven years ago and there was no line or discoloration on the paint. I used a clay bar on hood and then polished it it looked perfect. The older clear bra material would get dull but the new stuff is very durable. If you are worried about on the prius you can have the whole hood done. On my Ferrari I did the whole hood but the car is black. I put clear bra on all my cars. One of my cars the whole car is wrapped in clear bra.

Cost me $400.00 to get it done. But I give the guy many of cars to do.
The mirrors are hard to do on most cars.

Makes me wonder if we should just see those scratches, nicks and dings as ornamental marks- similar to laugh lines, wrinkles, age spots or even as tattoos or battle scars that naturally occur on the highway of life?

I own few cars and of different brands I own the Toyota paint seems to chip very easy. I touched up several chips before the clear bra went on and the prius only had a few hundred miles on it. I get rid of cars often so putting the clear bra on was no brainer as it will really help out on the resale value.

I have a friend that has Nissan GTR and his car has damage to the front right bumper and right fender that was caused by hitting some pieces of a tire that was on the road while he was traveling at triple digit speeds. He told me that he looks at damage as war wounds from driving so fast and that it gives his car character and he was also worried that the paint would not match.

I told him to get the damage fixed as his $80,000.00 GT-R looked terrible and he will take a hit on resale. He agreed and got it fixed.

Has anyone found a kit that has cutout for the headlight washers on the V? Having cutouts for the parking sensors would be a bonus.

I really wasn't interested in getting a clear bra, but after only 3 weeks I already have a chip in the bumper. I don't want to know what will happen when I hit salt pellets in the winter time. So I'm biting the bullet.
