Yesterday I went to two area Prius dealers looking for a 2010 basic red model IV. Oh, what I found out. The first did all the paperwork and printed out a quote of $29,430. I said the MSRP price should be $26,200. He checked with his boss, who said that their price included the nav. package, and insisted that was the only way you could buy it. If you took off the nav package, it would be a model II! I also asked him about the floor mats, and he replied that they were included in the MSRP. After getting all this fingured out I asked to take the final paperwork to look over, but he said no, they were required to keep everyting at the dealer.

The second dealer had a red model IV with nav at the 29+ price. He told me that he could get what I wanted in three days, but I would haved to pay extra for the shipping- $500-800, so I sould buy his IV+ and save myself this cost. Twice he asked me if I wanted the leather seat option.:(

You did check Toyota's website, of course, before seeing a salesman? Build Your Toyota I only ask since you didn't mention it. You're getting the shell game.
The dealer sort of, in a way, gave you the right prices: with and w/o Nav package. If w/o the Nav package the dealer insists it's a II, pay him a II price but insist on driving away a IV w/o Nav.

    Hogwash.

I can absolutely positively tell you that I have a 2010 Prius IV with leather and WITHOUT Nav.

    I paid $26,750.

Leather is standard on Prius IV...it is NOT available on Prius II or III without an aftermarket add on. Other goodies with the Prius IV is bluetooth (with or without Nav), PlasmaCluster and XM satellite radio.
