at them the way they do.

I have an appointment on Thursday to get my snow tires put on.

Well I stopped in yesterday to set up the appointment for later in the week and got a real surprise.

The service writer asks me if I was putting TWO snow tires on the car?

Guys, he said it like putting two snow tires on is the normal operating procedure.

I said no I'm putting four snow tires on the car.

Next question (BTW 2010 Prius 3,200 miles)

Do you want the tires back?

No, keep the tyres, and when summer rolls around I'll give you some hardly used winter tyres and buy a new summer set from you.

Are some people dumb or what?

Good that you are smart enough to know the answers to his questions. :)

At present, I would not have any place to store a 2nd set of tires.

Hey Pat. Our summer and winter are opposing. How about we set up a tyre exchange program?
Every six months I'll ship you mine and you ship me yours.

That's where I bought mine and was hoping to find good service when the time comes.

My winters are pretty much like your summers so I don't see much need for winter tyres. No snow, not even much rain.

A few years ago, yes this is off topic, a few years ago, back in 2006 I bought a brand new motorbike. I rode that bike to work on every day there was not going to be any rain. I took my car to work 8 times over the following 12 months and would have got away with riding on a few of those days too. It was a very dry year but that is what it is like here. South Australia is the driest state in the driest populated continent on earth. And snow? First time I ever saw or touched the stuff was January this year in Chicago IL.

The nearest I get to driving on snow is this: -

    You have heard the saying,
Those who can't do it, Teach
    Those who can't Teach, Administrate.

The service writer isn't working on the car, a trained tech is.
The two techs I talked to at the meet and greet seemed to be on the ball.

At least I have Rohrich Toyota about two miles from home and one mile from work if I need to change dealers.

So far I haven't heard any stories about poor quality work coming out of the Toyota dealers around us. :)

    All good points. :)

I actually worked at Day a decade ago. The only department that didn't seem to have rapid turnover was service. They were pretty solid back then, but the sales department.. Yikes! I saw some pretty dastardly deeds back then.

I have an independent mechanic I've used for a long time on my other cars who was previously at Rohrich. He said he has a few Prius customers now.. I'm still deciding between him and a dealership.

Day's management is a real bunch of goons (their Ford dealership really dealt my father in law a load of crap).

I'd drive to another state before I dealt with any Day shop.
