I'm almost to 100,000 in my 2005. Just had it checked and everything is in perfect condition. The only thing the techs could find wrong was the dirty carpet on the driver's side. :) Very pleased about that. The new models are hot!

Also, the new site is awesome! I used to frequent a few years ago before getting my Prius under the handle "heliotropehead" or something like that. Too long ago for me to remember.

2004 Prius - 127K miles with zero dealer or maintenance visits. Average MPG is approximately 50.4 for the life of the vehicle. Just lost charge for the 12V battery and replacing tonight.

I just bought my first 2005 Prius, obviously used, with a premium package (navigation and leather) and have almost 100,000 on it. It's a love at first sight. Already drove over 3,000 miles and everything looks and works like brand new.

I am be looking for nice customizing ideas to to make it look even nicer. What people here normally do with their rides if anything? Thanks.

I joined the 100,000 mile club this past weekend.

No major problems. 1 defective tire replaced by mfr, 12v battery replaced 3 months ago, and routine maintenance. Lifetime mileage is 50.2.

    Hello.
I have owned my 2006 Prius since 7/06 and now have 117K miles without replacing batteries, brake pads, etc. The Toyota dealership in California last week told me I should be able to run an additional 100K miles before replacing batteries. Not sure what to believe or think. I have achieved ~43MPG over the life of mostly hwy driving.
Very zippy vehicle, handles great in nasty conditions until a significant side wind hits unexpectedly. leg room is my only complaint at 6'1"

    Hi everyone,
By far my favorite site - perused daily.
I have a 2005 package 6 - just turned 100,000 miles and the car has never been to a dealership for repairs, everything works like new. The only things that I have replaced are tires, trans oil at 70,000 (done by myself -very easy) , spark plugs and Optima 12 volt battery.
The car has been mainly used for daily commute (100 miles daily).
I only fill up 1 time per week and always fill to the neck.
My fuel economy is always between 52-55 mpg and the farthest I have driven on 1 tank of gas is 575 miles.
Love the site - excellent job on content, please dont forget us gen 2 owners for current topics.

I'm at 98,000 miles right now. I just replaced my water pump this week. Toyota wanted $140 for the pump plus #250 labor. I got a guaranteed for life Bosch pump for $60, some coolant from Toyota for $18, a new belt for $20 and it took about 3 hours. that is the only mechanical thing that has gone bad so far. I replaced the transaxle oil at 67,000. My 6 disk changer jammed a month ago, pretty annoying.

99,200. I'll post a pretty 100k picture when the day arrives.
Costs so far over 5 years have been oils, filters, and tyres. Oils and filters changed at home, and have cost about $175 total using a biannual schedule for the engine oil, and every 30k - 50k for the cabin and engine air filters.

    Just hit 100,00 miles today.

Bought my 2008 Prius on 1/21/08 and passed the 100,000 mile mark on 12/10/09. Less than 2 years.

    Yikes Howard!

I bought mine at the same time as you (1/12/08) --
and I just made the appt. for my 15,000 mi. maintenance.

In fact, I haven't paid a cent in maintenance yet --
    • 5,000 mi. -- covered by the new-car thing.
    • 10,000 mi -- they gave it to me for free b/c they screwed up & took too long.
Any problems in your 2 years?
    Wishing you another 100,000!!

    Got there;
2004 model, bought new in May 2004. Problems? Some:
    - console lid (warranty)
    - cracked windshield (at 3 months, but its on passenger side so out of my field of vision! I'll get it fixed, now)
    - brake pedal sensor (took 3 trips, 2 tows, to diagnose and fix)
    - couple of fender benders; 1st required new fender and rear quarter panel; 2nd I just popped out myself)
    - and currently the monitor loses all I/O intermittently. Probably a loose connector but I haven't had a chance to take the dash apart.
But all in all, the best car I've ever owned (and I've owned a Vega). Long term mileage, 48-50 mpg, mostly commuting.
edit: forgot that A/C condenser replacement and 12v battery!

210,000 miles of mostly freeway driving on my 2004 Prius. So far scheduled maintenance items and tires. One of the rear shock absorbers has developed a leak and I will have to replace both rear shock absorbers. I still have the original brake pads on the car. Overall I am very pleased with the car.

Not one problem in these 2 years. I bring it in every 5,000 miles and get the suggested maintenance done and that's it.

I also hit the 100K mark three weeks ago. So far, the car is really reliable and trouble free. Will replace the second set of tires in a few weeks. I'm running on Kumho Power Star 758 for a little over 60,000 miles now. No tire noise although understandably a bit bumpy due to almost gone tire tread. Will replace them with OEM Goodyear Integrity I bought from a member here for $100 for the set.

Just traded my 2001 Prius for a 2010 at 118,234 miles. Only replacments were the 12V battery, twice, with a WestCo AGP, and tires. The 12 battery would go flat because my wife and I go on long trips in our RV. I measured the all-off drain at 40 milliamp, so this drains the battery one AH each day of unuse. I eventually wired in a disconnect switch. The passenger power lock failed, but I did not have it fixed.

Finally hit 100,000 in my 2004 Prius, bought in August 2004. We drive about 18,000 miles a year, so it took a little while.

Anyway, what a great car! The software issue was fixed in late 2004, then the steering column thingy that Toyota had changed out on all Priuses. Other than that, 5000 mile oil changes, new tires at 42k (ContiPro Contacts, not so good) and 76k (Michelin Primacy, love em). Couple of air filters, and that's it. Runs like almost new :) A few rattles, plenty of scratches (we beat on this thing - once put nearly 1000 lbs of wood in the back!), pretty dirty right now. I'd like to keep it until plugins come along, maybe another 50k. I have no doubt I'll get there.
