My only gripe about the 04 Prius is that the seats are terribly uncomfortable for the lower back.

Does anyone know if the 05 seats been redesigned to a more human(e) shape with some lumbar support? If so, will they fit in an 04?

It seems silly to have to live with hokey seat cushion add-ons in a brand new car.

    Sorry Rick
Toyota has spent everything on economy not comfort in the Prius I also think that the seats are one of the first things that will be changed in the next year or two. But no change was made in 05.

Thanks, Kyle. I'll check into the bladders further. That might be all my 60 year old back needs.

For the 06 model year, in their relentless quest to cripple America's drivers, Toyota is including small spikes on the driver's seat, similar to devices used during the Spanish inquisition. :)

Actually, what they really need to include is a list of good back specialists. Try taking a 3 hour trip with the car... it feels like your kidneys have been worked over with baseball bats.

Maybe we've discovered their real target clients - old pharts. When my wife, dog, and I travel, one of our 3 bladders give out anyway before the seat cripples our backs.
