I just got my prius today and found that my sunglasses do not fit in the sunglasses holder. I wear normal sunglasses; this is the first vehicle I have driven that had this issue. Anyone else have this issue.

Mine fit OK. But I have prescription glasses...so maybe they are smaller....

Use one of the consoles perhaps.

I have the same problem. My sunglasses are fairly small so they physically fit in the holder...but the way it's designed my sunglasses just fall out when the holder door is open. Very poor design IMO.

Mine never did in the 2004 either; however, they fit absolutely fantastic in the door.

I really like having my sunglass sitting vertically in the door cupholder. It's really easy to grab them or put them away and they are protected by a padded case.

Good thing too, the solar model doesn't have a sunglass holder anyway.

One pair I have does fit but it is tight... There is a thread about this somewhere and many people had the same problem... I think it even mentioned what people 'really' use it for.

Mine don't fit and the user guide says not to keep sunglasses in there when it is sunny in case the heat causes them to melt.

Yes, while I bought the car for the MPGs and technology and really enjoy it, there is no excuse for the sunglasses holder problem. It's almost 2010 and they can't design a sunglasses holder that fits 90%+ of the sunglasses out there? There is just no excuse for this!

I use mine for my garage door opener.

You have to read the manual.

The manual states that it is not a sunglasses holder. It is an overhead console. Page 370 say do not leave glasses or lighters in the console. :D

On page 374. It says that the hole in the door is a bottle holder. But - "Do not place anything other than pet bottles in the bottle holders." In other words, non-pet-owners should leave the bottle holder alone. :D

Read the manual and use the car appropriately only for its intended use. :D

Interesting, I have a big stylish pair of movie star hide-your-whole-face sunglasses and they fit great. The trick is to put them into the holder lense first.

I don't care what they call it. It's a sunglasses holder and my aviators fit just fine :)

Mine don't fit in my 05 so I just fold them up and hang them from the back of the rearview mirror. One grab and they unfold and come off the mirror.

I use magnetic clip-ons over my prescription glasses. These fit just fine in the 2004's holder. Now I have to toss them down below the shifter console as the solar roof version doesn't get a sunglass holder above. Alternately, they'll end up in a cup-holder from time to time.

They fit in my 05 but not the 12 plug in. I use it for a spare pair of reading glasses instead -- smaller and fit well.

for those of you that are having issues with fit, let me break it to you, time to switch over to REGULAR size sunglasses. I am afraid that some of you are what I consider "big sunglass people". Kardashian style.

Leave your sunglasses in the holder when it gets really hot and they ought to melt into place. They'll fit perfectly, after repeating this remoulding process a few times. Now, getting them to fit your face again may be more challenging.
