Not today, but on New Year's Eve, we parked it at a friend's house, caught a 'Happy bus' and went out to party. The bus delivered us back to our friend's house, where we slept on an air mattress. Our Prius was safe and sound all night, and got us home safely on New Year's day, when we were sober!

We took Rudy through a touchless car wash, too. He kinda liked that.

I laid a piece of radiant barrier(bubble type) over engine. Noticed ice temp went from 80 f to 115f in same distance at below 30 f outside temp. Was 155f within 2 miles. No heater on.

Went to Chula Vista to see mom, passed many other Prii on the roads all with the Solar Roof open to let in the sun and look at the beautiful blue sky. Definitely taking a road trip in January, I need some alone time.

    Two things today:
    1) Ordered 2 pairs of Infinite speakers to put on 4 doors. Installation to be done 10 days from now. Hope it will give me better sound quality.
    2) Took it for a touchless car wash. Unfortunately, the steel guard rail at the entrance seems to be too high for the 15" wheel. I parked it to close to the rail and it cracked the plastic hub cap on its outer edge. Felt like someone cutting into my skin.

R2Pre2 drove us to a friend's house out in the woods to distill 20 gallons of bad Pinot Noir into 3 gallons of fabulous, blow-the-top-off-your-head Grappa!

Then we went foraging in the forest for Chantrelle mushrooms.

    Total yummy day! :thumb:

I moved my Prius from one parking space to another parking space across the street (New York City Alternate Side of the Street Parking Rules).

Then I blocked the grille with Frost King foam pipe insulation. Although I've had the car and pipe insulation for 3 years now, this was the first time I got around to blocking the grille (I'm lazy).

Nothing except mark the 9th day my Prius has been in the body shop since some goof smashed into it. $5,400 in damages and the insurance companies have just settled.

Plus I gotta drive a Kia until it's done (it was that or a PT Cruiser).

    Sigh.

I got the Curt Hitch from Rockauto today, and will try to install it. Got to be ready for summer biking.

Deposited a check at the Credit Union, then bought a new hard drive for my wife's iMac at Fry's Electronics. Tomorrow we plan on going to the beach for breakfast.
Checked to see if it had any of the problems I am reading about here in PC. FM: no static, backup; no jerking, MFD, no rattle (but the back seat rattles, must check the battery grill).

Installed snow tires! Unfortunately one of them lost a few balancing weights in shipping and will need to be rebalanced - Tirerack.com has already said they will reimburse me.

Drove my mom to her first day at work after she was out for 1 1/2 months due to foot surgery. I'm loving this car! I think our Camry Hybrid is getting jealous, though I did grab the wrong key fob. Mental note: Grey Key Fob=Camry, Black Key Fob=Prius...

Got it stuck in the snow getting the car off the drive. I am now blocking the cul de sac I live in  and am waiting for a knock on door from one of my neighbours who fancies giving me a push :D

I'll drive my 'Luna' to an open air local market in another closer little town.
It's cold outside but she needs a run (not yet 2.000 km in 2 months !)

Celebrated her turning over 5,000 miles with a bath! (She needed it!)

p.s. GrumpieCabbie - is Harrowgate even more beautiful in the snow? I've been following the weather reports as I have friends in the UK and Scotland. What's normal for New England is a mess for Mother England!

"Eleanor" just turned 8200 miles as I pulled into the garage this morning after returning from Target. She'll be a year on the 15th. It's unusually cold here for the longest period of time that I can remember. But.......the sun's out......I can deal with it!!

    In a word - Yes

Check out the following youtube video. It's not one of mine but gives a good idea of what you're missing.
