I installed fog lamps over the weekend and have completed the install with the exception of the fog lamp switch wiring. I would prefer not to use a scotch lock connector to tap power and noticed that a one of the prior install threads mentioned using a terminal.

There were a few terminal p/n's mentioned in the thread and I wanted to confirm which is correct before ordering. I assume the correct terminal is p/n 82998-24350 (Lexus p/n)? Can anybody confirm this?

Regarding the other terminal called out in the thread p/n 82998-12430 (and packing # 90980-09152), I assume this is for the connection at the engine compartment fuse box?

    Thanks for the help.

    Ron,
Attached is one of the photos from the document with the brown wire noted better. There are probably other places to tap into +12v when the parking/headlights are on. Like running a wire through the firewall to the parking light wires themselves,,, etc. I used the brown wire cause it was close to my relay.

Those pin #s mentioned are for tapping into unused slots in the ECU harnesses. e.g. an option not used on a certain model of the car. Often much of the wiring harness is there just not complete.

Another alternative: After you remove the dash panel that holds the switches, you'll find and a small, brown unused connector at the back of the existing switches. There's a wire at that connector thats hot when the parking lights are on. I used this point to connect the "enable" wire that allows fog light function. This is not the current source for the fogs themselves, just the power for the switch to trigger the relay.
BTW, the factory fogs are really just for looks IMO. They do almost nothing to light the road.

Do you have a photo showing the connector/wire you tapped into?

Sorry but no. As soon as you remove the dash panel and are able to view the back of the switches it will be obvious though. Then just use a test light to probe the pins of the connector.
Don't expect a lot out of the fogs though ~ they're mostly for show.
