Opps - hos stupid of me. I am still running off of 8.1 - sorry for the confusion but I would think the same process will work for 9.1 too.

Fortunately, my Nav system has my home in the wrong location, so I pointed it to a different house number at the corner where my place is actually located. So if My Prius gets stolen, my neighbor may have an interesting surprise.

I just made a copy of my 9.1. The backup is running extremely smooth in my car ;-)

I made a few backup copies of my 9.1 Nav DVD as well, you need to use DVD+R DL (Dual Layer) DVD's (8.5GB capacity), just used "ImgBurn" to generate the ISO of the original, and then used it to make the copies. I have tested them in the Navigation system, and they run just fine, there is no copy protection. You can also read the files on a windows system, but who knows what format the data is in. If we knew that, we could make our own changes to it :)

If anyone needs a "backup" PM me :)

I certainly would be tempted but 8.5gb is too much data for my limited and capped bandwith.

Ok, I have created a downloadable torrent of the DVD, here is the link:
    http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/5316674

You need a Torrent client, such as utorrent: Download - Torrent - a (very) tiny BitTorrent client

I would use the 2.0 Beta client, I had no luck with the released version. once enough people download this, it will get "seeded", and will be available easily.

You then burn the "464210-1420.MDS" file with "ImgBurn", there are 3 files total, the one listed, 464210-1420.ISO, and "info.txt" which just has the verbage on the DVD as a text file so you can label it.

    ImgBurn: The Official ImgBurn Website

I hope no one minds, but I thoght this could help out a few people here :) the files are 6.99GB to download, that can easily take 16-20 hours or longer with a bitorrent client, especially before it is seeded well.

Thank you so much for doing this Mitch! But I think there is a problem with your link... just takes me to eBay. The link wouldn't post right for me either... some kind of protection, I guess.

My guess: Priuschat doesn't allow bittorrent links, I edited it and updated it, but you are right, the link does take you to ebay... just copy the text of the link, I think that will work fine, or if you search utorent, you will also find the link...

You can google the MDS file and find it too for what that is worth.

Thanks, Mitch. Will the 2010 v9.1 work in a 2006 gen 5 Nav? I think the 2010 is gen 6 now, right?

The one we need is 86271-53024. I think. There is only one torrent out there for this but no one is seeding it. Plus I have not heard of anyone actually running a copy of 9.1 in a 2006-2009 Prius yet. Hopefully we will have better luck with the 9.1 than we did with the 7.1-8.1 discs.

    Will a gen06 disc work in a gen05 player?

probably not, they are different navigation systems, the Gen 6 was updated for the 2010 Prius...

The Data would work, but the "code update" likely will not. If you can edit/mix match, you can make a "franken" DVD, with the code from your Gen 5, and use the data from the Gen 6...

I have re-opened my seed for P1rateb@y if anyone is interested.
I do have a challenge though.
I burned the DVD, Dual-layer with Nero. I have compared the files on the 7.1 ver to the 9.1 ver and they are the same with the exception of date stamps, but when I try to use, the disc is not readable.
Is there a 'special' way to burn?
MDS is the corresponding catalog file, will the MDS work with Nero or do I need a differnet burning program? any help would be appreciated.

I would suggest "ImgBurn", and yes, you need DualLayer DVDs, and you burn the .MDS file which gives it the Layer 0/1 info.

However, keep in mind this ISO is for the 2010 Prius, which is a Gen6 Navigation system

I have the 9.1 Gen5, I think this is the update for te 2008.
How do I tell Imgburn to use the mds file or does it know if it is in the folder?

Maybe I am missing the process.
I have two files, 7.7Gb Nav Gen5 9_1.iso that is a RAR file and a 9kb MDS file. I un-rarred the file and ended up with 5 folders and 20ish files. I have been burning/copying the files to the dvd.
Should I be creating an ISO DVD? sorry, new to this.

Is the 9.1 your seeding the correct one for the 2006-2009 Prius? Did you rip it yourself? Whats the model number on the disk? Should be 86271-53024 if I have the right number.

Back on the 6.1 disk all you had to do to make sure it worked is to burn to a DVD+R DL and make sure your DVD burner changed the book type to DVD-R.

Whats the name of your seed? All I see is one for the 2010 Prius. The Lexus one is still there but no one seeding it.

The one I seeded is for the 2010 Prius, Gen6, and it is 9.1
If you search this thread for my posts their is a link and name for the seed, again, it was for the 2010 Prius, not for anything else.
