On the 8.1 (or 9.1) NavDVD there are many files (using about 7.5 GB of space).

One can load these files onto a PC. Then, one could look at the "control" files
to find a hidden setting, option, or maybe even a "patch" that would defeat
    the while-moving" inhibitions?

Has anybody tried this "software" approach?

I just made a hybrid DVD with the 5.1 loading.kwi. Haven't tried to reload the loading.kwi yet but the new hybrid DVD map portion is working fine.

I had no luck with the hybrid disk when I tried it... the 5.1 loading.kwi file did not seem to work with the Gen6 nav unit, as far as I could tell :(

That's not to say that someone couldn't hack the file and remove the lockout, but disassembling and hacking the code is way beyond me.

No luck with the hybrid disc..the 5.1 loading.kwi will not load when doing the fuse trick. I also made a backup copy of the 9.1 DVD and the backup one is loading fine. I am gonna mess around with the backup copy and see what it does.

I assume you found the same thing I did that unless you remove power from the DVD unit you don't actually get the 5.1 loaded. Consequently you don't get the override ability back. For me when I got the 5.1 code loaded (LOADING.KWI) I could override but the mapping is all but useless. Points of interest, addresses - all the useful stuff - is broken.

If you have gotten it to work, I and thousands of others would like to know how. I'll probably go back to using the 5.1. It's better to have an old map I can use rather than a new map that's locked in a box on your dash board. To see the rage visit ToyotaOverride.com

I agree - we need folks with "good" loading.kwi files that enable bypass to post the file particulars (size, date) for various configurations (gen 4, 5, 6).
