When I am driving at highway speed, it sounds like I left the windows open a little bit. I am sure that all the windows are closed. The noise is driving me nuts! :cussing:
    Anybody experience this? Dealer time?

Perhaps the weatherstripping came loose, or came out of the groove it sits in. Compare doors and you might find it out of place on one or two of them.

do you get water coming in when you go through an automatic carwash? in my old car, anytime i drove through an automatic i got jets of water coming in because of bad weatherstripping.

just a way to test KTPhil's idea.

Also, if the windows are leaking just a little, spary some white silicon on a rag and wipe it on the rubber gasket material.

I checked, but they are all in place. Still trying to figure out what the cause is. :|

take a piece of wax paper ( I found this works the best ) and lay it on top of the door frame and then close the door, now try and pull the paper out if it moves at all the door frame ( window section ) needs to be bent in slightly. This is a fairly common problem. You should take it to the dealer if it needs to be move inward. If your of a do it yourself bent just grab it at the top and then hold the door with your knee and pull in quick tugs to move the frame inward. It really takes little effort to move the frame a quarter inch, but often that's all that's required to get a proper seal on the weather stripping.

Same issue here. It sounds like the windows are slightly open or they simply don't block enough road noise. I'm going to check the weather stripping but the car is only 2 weeks old.

(just a weird idea of mine, but...) try turning the fan on full blast, make sure it's not on recirculate. if your a smoker use a cigarette, otherwise improvise with something, (haha, maybe a nicely flavored cigar so the smell won't be extremely bad) then wave it around the seals of the car, maybe even the back hatch see if the smoke really starts to shoot out. I don't know about the way the air pressure in the prius works though, but it might be worth a try

Probably won't work-- the air will go in the battery cooling grille. At least your battery will smell nice!

Try a hair dryer aimed at the door seals form the outside. You might feel or at least hear the sound more when you get to the leaky part.

There are two door seals on the Prius, so air noise really shouldn't happen. If yu can't find it, take it to the dealer and take a drive.

I've noticed this in my '04, but I don't its actually a leak. My parents have an '05 Highlander, and I heard the same thing in it recently, so I'm guessing its just a Toyota design issue. I've never found any water actually leaking in, but in both I hear the sound.

I've heard the wind noise since I first picked up my Prius a year ago, but only on occasion (about once a week). What I've deducted, since it's only an occasional noise (and it doesn't leak water), is it has to do with the direction and speed of the wind I'm driving through. I'll hear the wind noise as I'm driving, turn a corner heading another direction and it goes away.

The noise that's really weird is when I have my passenger side window open all the way (all others closed), on occasion, I get this very heavy, bass, vibrating sound that reverberates throughout the car and actually hurts my ears.

That is from the turbulence caused by the open window. You are causing low frequency pressure cycles inside the car. Try opening another window a bit, or give up and use the non-A/C fresh air setting and fan.

Oh, for the days of vent wings...

Ride through an automatic car wash and see if you notice water coming in anywhere.

I experience something similar. But I think we are talking about different kind of noise. I have all my windows closed and still hearing noise like I have the windows open a little bit. Some days I hear it, and some days I don't.

It was raining the other day, but there were no water leaking in. Just noise from the wind at highway speed. My solution for now, pump up the volume on the CD! :|

Scotty...yes, it sounds like a window is open on the left side (only) just a little bit. But it's not. I tried opening and closing all the windows to be sure. Try turning a corner to see if the noise goes away. If so, it has to be the way the wind is hitting the car (I think).

It is a little annoyance but with no leaks and it's only on occasion...what the heck.
