Hmmm.... not all brains work like mine?

If you take the letters in Prius and rearrange them you get

    Sport Utility
    Rest In Peace

Maybe so, but even though it's a bit obscure I think it's pretty clever and very fitting. My $0.02

The one I'm getting is "5CENT-MH", you could try that, as I'm sure someone in your area might have already picked "NiMH".

Took my wife forever to get what I was trying to say with picking that one, until I told her to think about the rechargeable battery.

EXXOFF is awesome for whoever posted that :p

My wife came up with the personalized plate we home to get from the Montana DMV:

GD4US (Good for Us, Good for US)

Besides the self-congratulatory note, there are a couple of other meanings that can be read into it as well. . .

Just ordered my Georgia plate that will read "REGENR8". I thought it was good. I have to give credit for this one to my wife. She got it off the consumption screen where it tells you that one car = 50wh regeneration. I thought it was pretty positive. Besides, all of the MPG's between 50 and 55 were taken!

    Just my 2 cents,

    Dan

Got my plates confirmed as available and ordered today in Texas. Drivers in other states feel free to use my idea if it appeals to you. For those of you who are NOT science nerds this may take some explanation. The greek letter delta is used in physics equations to represent "change" and the letter t represents time. So my plate DELTA T is just that... Change overTime. or Changing Time. The hybrids can represent a real change in how the driving public perceives what they 'need' in a car. It's certainly a radical departure from the SUV (albeit a little SUV) that I traded in.

It's second meaning is a bit more personal, my friends often call me T (name = Terry) so 'changing T' also somewhat fits me. My driving style certainly is changing with this little tidewater beauty.

There ya go - my bid for favorite plates, which I hope to have in my hands and on my Prius in just a few weeks "DELTA T". I'll post a photo as soon as I have them installed.

Other options I considered but rejected (feel free to use)

    NVRO CAR (pronounce it "enviro-car")

B ME UP with various inserted space options - I'm just not enough of a Trekie/Treker (which is more politically correct?) to pull this one off, but some one might like to use it. One of my friends calls the Prius a shuttle, but then he just got back from doing both of the Star Trek experiences in Vegas so we wonder a bit about him.

    $0.02

As I was driving north on I95 in Maine today.....a silver, Maine Prius passed me with plates "FREE US". Nuff Said.

I've already ordered this one. No it's not a hybrid-specific plate. Too bad!

Gack! Where have all the greenies gone? My state's (MD) DMV is still steam-powered, so we have to send in 3 requests & see which one we get. We can't check to see what's taken ahead of time. The three I'm sending in are:

    LORAX
    TREEHGR
    BREATHE

    I've also thought about:

    SVEARTH
    NO CO2
    CLN AIR
    CLNWRLD
    1 WORLD
    LVTREES

I'm guessing most of those are taken, but I'll know in 3-4 weeks.
