This morning my remote starter failed to work. After pressing the 'Lock' button the third time, the hazard lights flashed for 6-7 times, and then it stopped. Normally, it will flash for about 20 times followed by engine start. FYI - this is a factory/port installed Remote Starter, and it was working fine. And the temp was extremely cold this morning (~5F) (not that this may have an effect. When I eventually got in the car and started the engine, I did not have any problem starting (even the battery was more than half charged). Any ideas what could be wrong besides taking it to the dealer?

I just got mine installed today. Not sure about how it works just yet but, I have to drive back on hour now. My interior light setting swtich no longer works so all my interior lights only stay on daytime and I cannot get them to switch to night for anything. I hate having dealer installed items put on but, I wanted remote start. They did not give me a demo or anything. Can you give me any insight on this please? It started tonight via the remote but when I opened the door it turned off is that correct? And while it was running after I started it no parking lights or anything came on it was just interior lights and running. is this right?
    Thanks

The instructions should be on the remote. Yes, the engine stops the moment you open the door for safety should anyone else try to open and drive the car. I don't think any parking lights turn on but i have not looked for this explicitly. I have not even seen the interior lights in mine (i have it set as 'door').
