I can buy a Prius V 2010 with 7000 miles , certified pre owned for $27650. How much lower do you think the dealer would go.

I need help never bought a new car:eek:

Does it have any packages or options? That price is only about $400 under the base price for a Prius V.

it has Navigation System w/JBL® Audio so a new one would be about 31000 new

is this a good deal, do you think i could really push any harder

Get a new one with out the nav. Then if you want nav have a shop change out the head unit and hook it up to the jbl amp and speakers. It should be arround $1K installed, and give you better sound and nav features (you can choose the unit that you want). If your financing your monthly payment will likely be lower new versus used. I'd rather have a new car with an aftermarket better head unit and lower monthly payment.

    A couple questions for you:

    1. What part of Mo. are you from?
    2. What dealership has the car?
    3. Was the car a dealer demo, or privately owned?
    4. Do you mind the 7000 miles?
    5. is the car equipped to your satisfaction?

My wife and I live in Springfield, and due to the inability to deal with our local dealer, purchased our car in Olathe, Ks. (just Southwest of K.C., MO.)

At the time we purchased our car (8/4/2009) they had a Silver V we would have bought, but, it was their demo, and they were required to keep it for a minimum of 6 months before it could be sold. So I was curious if it was a dealers demo that was now coming available for sale. :In that case, you would need to keep in mind that all of those 7000 miles were probably put on by customers trying out a 2010 Prius. And, conversely, the Prius is NOT a high performance car (except for fuel mileage), and thus, even duruing demo rides is seldom stressed a great deal, either in the engine, braking or cornering departments. So, those 7000 miles wouldn't carry much of a detramental affect.

As far as dickering on the price, it's worth a try, all they can say is NO! You might as well try to negotiate a little lower price (don't get carried away, they're still a fairly desirable product-however, maybe a little less so now with all the whoopla, but that could be a good bargaining chip).

If you don't mind a little travel, contact Shannon Merkle at Olathe Toyota, she was our very knowledgeable sales person, and even back in August, when virtually all Prius's were going for sticker, Shannon was able to get us a $500 discount. It would be worth calling and speaking with her and seeing what kind of deal she could work our for you. Olathe Toyota is the largest dealership in the K.C. Region, and has a huge inventory of both new and pre-owned Prius. Look at their web site (olathetoyota.com), and call Shannon, she might be able to do you some good.

If nothing can be worked out, that car's price doesn't sound too bad.

    Good Luck!

Thats what i was thinking. Went in offered 25000 but wanted the bumper to bumper for 100 000 miles. They came back with 25500 down from 27900
I bought it and drove it away. In hindsight i could have gone lower but i do feel better with the total warranty. thank you to everybody that helped

I just sold my G3, Model IV, with solar roof, etc, with (also) 7K miles for $23.5K. I also had the 100K extended warrenty which conveys to the new owner.

    You can do better.

I'd wait. There are people like me, and dealerships that are just now starting to unload, so i expect a big inventory by late Spring.

Just curious, Have you done this?

I'm assuming that you start out with a 2010, version 3, without Nav. Then have the Toyota Service Department swap out parts. Does it really cost only $ 1K to add Nav?
