I'm a reporter at the Washington Post and am trying to reach hybrid owners who take advantage of using the HOV lanes in Virginia. I can be reached by email at [email protected]

    Thanks,
    Steven Ginsberg

I cant help you, but I do have a question that maybe you or other DC metro people can answer.....
I live in MD, but I am thinking of taking a job off 66. Is there a sticker or something I can put on my car to allow me to drive in HOV, since I cannot get the special virginia plates?

I've got the special plates, but since I live in Springfield and work out in Dulles, and my partner then takes the car from there to Falls Church, we don't have much in the HOV war to worry about. Putting close to 100 miles on the car a day though!

Raenstoirm - Sorry to say that Virginia doesn't allow Maryland hybrid drivers to use their HOV lanes. They claim that they will as soon as Maryland allows Virginia hybrid drivers to use Maryland's HOV lanes. Since you already know that Maryland doesn't even allow Maryland hybrid drivers to use the HOV lanes, we're out of luck.

I just got my Prius (2002) and I'm applying for CF plates so I can ride in the HOV lanes.

Thanks for the heads up. I just sent an email to the virginia job, declining. My commute is long enough, all I need to do is add the beltway and 66 and I would be pulling my hair out!! Or have some major road rage!! :guns:

It's actually a PriusChat stock avatar and you can use it, as long as it's ok with Cybele (she created them). Might want to drop her a PM just to be sure. I don't mind though.

I use the HOV on 66 once a week on Friday after work.
