LOL!...... for the record, the LED's are nice but the focused Halogen are too... and I really like the high beams....

I think someone asked if you could put 17" wheels on the package IV.
I don't see why not.... just be prepared to loose 2.5 to 3mpg when you do.

The new Lexus hybrid has some nice wheels, but it doesn't get near the mileage the prius does either.

That looks awesome. Which centre cap is that? Looks different from the ones being discussed in this thread (42603-52030) as the logo seems raised rather than recessed... Is that 42603-52110?...or maybe i'm just seeing things.

Oh those do look nice! If those are the textured 42603-52110's please tell me! I posted in another thread how I would like to order those, but the schematic that pops up on parts.com show an x shaped cap for that part #.

Truth be told, in a few years when the hubcaps begin to show their age with scratches or discoloration, we'll all be seeing many more of the alloy wheels underneath. I just discovered mine after my first rotation and was pleasantly surprised. But I'll try to find another center cap - $18 is ridiculous.

I purchased mine via the earlier chat listing and the total came to just around $50 (as others have referenced) for the 4 center caps so not sure where you are seeing $18 per cap. And yes, they look much better than the ugly covers that came with the car.

It's CA$17.50 up here too. Of course it's cheaper wholesale.

    I don't know what's up with parts.com

Apparently they redesigned their website within the last week, and I can't figure out how to order parts by part number or how to order parts for the Prius:

    Toyota - Parts.com

EDIT: NEVER MIND. THE REDESIGNED WEBSITE MAY BE BAD. BUT IT WAS MY ERROR REGARDING PARTS FOR THE PRIUS. I BELIEVE I HAD FAILED TO SCROLL DOWN THE TOYOTA MODELS PAGE ENOUGH TO GET TO THE PRIUS ICON.

They don't even list the Prius if you select the year 2010.

I need to get those center caps for 2010. Can someone please link me directly to the store that sells it, hopefully for cheap? Thanks.

I just discovered the whole deal with the wheels/covers today. Glad I found out about it before I spend money on my new wheels. The alloy wheels looks way better than the hideous wheel cover.

    bebopblues,

Here's a post of mine from another thread, summarizing what I know about the center caps:

You can go to your Toyota dealer with the part number for the center caps that you want.

Alternatively, here's a link to parts.com with the page for searching for parts by part number. Plug in the part number of the caps that you want (note that links to parts.com seem to disappear quickly, so act fast or figure it out yourself as to how to order the caps by part number from parts.com or other Toyota OEM parts online store):

    http://www.parts.com/oemCatalog/index.cfm?action=MultiSearch&skipLookup=1&items=10&siteid=2

    Good luck.

We took delivery of our Prius II on Saturday 3/6; before I left the dealer to drive it home, I went to the parts dept and ordered the center caps [$11 each at our dealer]. They arrived on Monday, and I put the silly plastic covers in storage for the duration.

I also had taken off the plastic from the wheels of our '06. In both cases, the car looks better for the deletion of these useless pieces. I'm still unclear on the reason for alloy wheels partially covered [and damaged cosmetically] by plastic add-ons.

I finally took off the hubcaps!

I finally took off the hubcaps! It was a much needed change and I don't have the urge to get the 17" Prius V wheels now.

Prius 2010- I lost one of the plastic hubcaps - dealer had one in stock for 66.00. Had to bite the bullet! Gotta wonder why it is so expensive!

So, uh, HOW do you remove the plastic wheel covers? Is there a secret latch or something? Don't want to damage those alloy wheels prying them off...

I just grab the plastic by/at the spokes and give it a good yank. It pops right off.

Thanks! Just got 'em off and gave the whole Prius a good bath. The wheels weren't too bad for 3300 miles - guess I'm not really using mech. brakes that much!

Got my center covers at Lowe's today for .97 each. Will pop them on tomorrow!

Wheels look pretty good, I'm guessing they covered them for aero?
