    Hello everyone,
I am new to Prius Chat and need some advice. I am about to have heated leather seats installed next week in my 2010 III with solar package. Does anyone have any advice for me? I am mostly concerned about damage to other parts of the interior during the process.

    Thanks.

During the falI I had my fabric seats and fabric upholstery replaced with all leather for my 2010 Prius. The company that did it was not a dealer, but has worked with the dealer for several years, and does excellent work without flaws or damage. Some companies are like that, and there are terrible companies as well. Good luck.

Thanks, I never thought about them contracting it out.

Original cost for just leather was $1500, was able to negotiate that down to $750 then to add the heating elements brought the total back up to $1395. Did not ask about lumbar or extra cushion.

A good upholsterer can do anything you want as long as it fits in the car.

I have the Canaidan Premium model plus the optional leather heated seats package. It was done locally by the dealer's "appointed shop". I was told the leather kit is from Toyota parts but I couldn't verify it for sure. Anyways, it was done nicely (thought not the Lexus quality). I bought the leather seat package from the dealer only because I thought it was the only way I could get the heating elements. I know now where it was done because I had to take my car there. If I knew it before, I'd have asked the same place to install just the heating elements and keep the fabric seat covers. It would be a lot cheaper. (FYI: Price I paid the dealer for the heated leather seat package CAD1850 = USD1750, plus 13% tax here.)
