This is why mpg sucks right now. Maybe some Aussies can post some searing temps.

We've had a light Winter. I haven't had to deal with temps that cold. We can usually count on at least one -21c (-6f) morning per Winter.

Here is one slightly offtopic. ;)
A VW Polo, the little brother of the Jetta TDI. Last summer in Sardinia. 46C is around 115F, or so, if I get my math right.

Consumption is comparable to a Prius but the dimensions of the car are smaller.

When we hit rock bottom (-46.5°C). I wasn't up early enough (that was taken at 7-8am) to catch it. Well I took two shots I guess... since the darker shots would've been closer to 7 and this brighter shot would've been when the sun rose.

Oh and it was taken in Dec.

Of note... the manual said the range for the display is -30 to +50°C

    -40! That shouldn't be allowed.

    Where in Canada are you?

    "What's the temperature?"
    "Negative 40 degrees."
    "Is that Centigrade or Fahrenheit?"
    "Yep."

Thankfully, not that morning. I actually woke up and drove out to capture this pic knowing it's one of those things that happen once every few winters.

Truly disgusting, SO glad I live in the warmest part of Canada.

This is the hottest I've seen in my Pri so far, hoping to top it on my road trip to Death Valley in April!
