OK, this isn't specific to any generation of Prius, but occasionally, those outside the US talk about their gas mileage and post in units (e.g. L/100 km or km/L) that are meaningless to most Americans. I'm sure it's the converse is worse since most of the rest of the world uses metric/SI units instead of our archaic units. I used to either have to dig around for conversion tables and do the calculations manually (time consuming) or find calculator pages and hope they're right. If you didn't know, Google can do the conversions for you. Just do Google searches like these: 17 kilometers per liter in miles per gallon - Google Search 50 miles per gallon in kilometers per liter - Google Search 5 liters per 100 km in miles per gallon - Google Search 50 miles per us gallon in miles per uk gallon - Google Search 60 mph in km/h - Google Search 70 miles per hour in kilometers per hour - Google Search Here's a favorite. 50 miles per gallon in teaspoons per mile - Google Search
I like ConvertAll. It's a free open source application, and it encompasses pretty much every unit you will ever find, except perhaps Smoots. It works well with compound units, area, volume, and things like that. Tom
