Actually, I just thought of something here...

    Honest truth here...

I'm currently looking to purchase a 2010 Prius V w/Navigation and Technology Package. Prefer Blizzard Pearl with Gray Leather, no or very low miles. I'm also going to be keeping my 2008 Prius Package #6.

Sell me your car CHEAP, cash on the spot and I'll provide you with a Bill of Sale that you can use as 'evidence' of the low value.

This is in no way meant to be a sarcastic e-mail, so please IM me if you have what I'm looking for and are interested in selling cheap.

Im not going to put any burdens on Toyota. They have alot on their plate, and by the way, I wouldn't even think of doing that. Toyota is still awesome in my eyes <3

Love my Toyota Prius, wouldn't change it for anything! If they send me a paper for a class action lawsuit, I'm going to opt out.

They went forward with excellent ideas when other companies were stagnant. Go Toyota!

Hi Tideland. You just said what I was thinking. It really must be an American thing (no offence guys - love you all - I'm just giving my international perspective) that someone has got to pay, somewhere, somehow. I can understand suing them if you break your legs and can't work due their negligence, but suing for a perceived loss of value due to news stories seems amazing to me. Did you pay Toyota a cut in the past when you sold a Toyota that previously demanded a higher price compared to less reliable car? I doubt it.

Where will it all stop guys? You end up paying for all this litigation in the long run. One minute you slag off these lawyers and then the next you're calling them up for compo on a perceived loss of value.

Just let it go and enjoy life. ;)

So, here's the thing.... I didn't buy the car to sell it. I bought the car to drive it. I don't care what the resale value is. I'll drive it til it dies, then part out the bits that have a bit of life left. (Did I mention before that my other car, that my son drives, is an '88 Corolla.... it's not dead yet but has no real resale value, not that it owes me much)

When the Prius were hard to get and people were paying a premium, did anyone send Toyota a check for the increase in value?

You should have strung him along. Time is money and make him spend a lot of it.

What loss of value? Unless you recently sold your Toyota you have no monetary loss and no case. I doubt there are 6 million new-ish Toyotas sold in the near-term to build the above claim.

This is America. How hard can it be to find a lawyer? Better yet, represent yourself in Small Claims Court. You'll probably have a better chance of winning.

I think I'm in a good position... I plan to buy another Toyota long before I plan to sell one!

I really find it hard to believe that you guys/gals wouldn't be joining that list to be suing Toyota if in fact that "YOU" or a loved one was hurt, or even almost hut, that you wouldn't be trying to get ahead of the class!!!! The one who said that there hasn't been any deflated prices in toyota's{ I refuse to use a capital letter in their name anymore}, just go look in Craig's list in the Chicago area and then tell me if there not selling way below "Kelly Blue Book" or even NADA.....Now is the time to buy, if you feel lucky.... I myself, am looking to join as many class action lawsuits as I can get my name on, and I will laugh all the way to the bank....Even it it takes years, "time is on my side". And if this latest charge about the 2008 prius being true, then you can bet the farm that you just lost another 20% of your retail value.....BUT, WAIT, WE DON'T CARE, WE LOVE tOYOTA all the way to the GRAVE........
Now lets see all of the attacks....its OK, I got big shoulders.....fire away....my miss me though, I could be inside the bank, counting my monies.............

I have never, ever, ever bought a car as a means of investment. Every car I've purchased has been as a means of transportation, and beyond a growing family, I've driven most of them to 130k miles and 10 years of age. So, to me, resale value has never really been much of a concern. I'm hoping this 05 lasts until at least 200k miles (which, I should hit within about 5-6 years), and it can go on its way to be replaced by the next best (used) thing to get me from point A to B.

Perhaps what we now need is a national blacklist so that companies can refuse to sell their products to troublemakers. A company can't be forced to sell to you; by refusing they're protecting against future lawsuits.

I'm suing Hagen Daaz.... it made my waistline large and now I have to buy a new wardrobe. I also have lower mileage on my Prius due to the extra load I'm carrying. Case is going to be heard in three weeks. Judge Judy is presiding.
