Congratulations to Terry Bauer (maddoggs monsters) who is this year's winner of the PriusChat.com fantasy football league (High Voltage Running). Thanks to all fellow Prius Chatters who participated and made this a fun league in which play. Being a very sore loser I (Hodags) offer this poem in consolation to myself and all us who came up short this year.

    The Losers' Poem

Twas just days before kickoff in league High Voltage Running,
every owner was lusting, teams ready and gunning.
They'd read all the rules, set lineups each week
and came all prepared for a long winning streak.

When what to their astonishment did they struggle to learn?
Who to sit? Who to start? Why, who could discern?
The outcome each Sunday, despite plans fundamental
always ended up seeming -- well, quite accidental.

Out Slaton, out Bowe, be it injured or banned,
loss upon loss – not at all what was planned!
Undaunted by chance, in a season most dire
owners vowed to fight back, pounding hard on the wire.

But when dice grew silent, in the season's last round,
the Maddoggs were champions left lone to be crowned.
The website proclaimed it. The Maddoggs were flattered.
They boasted and bragged as if it all mattered.
The others left saddened, bereaved, disappointed
hard not to be acrimonious, embittered, disjointed.

But owners take heed to this important memorandum:
Fantasy football my friends... Why, it's nothing but RANDOM!

Next year will be different. Come back and you'll see.
Why old Lady Luck-- she'll be right beside me!

Again, thanks to all who played and congrats to Terry!

    Bob

    P.S. Go Colts!

Congrats Terry. My RB's let me down in the championship. Oh well, I'm still proud of my team, I kicked a lot of butt on the way to the championship!

    Thanks all!

    ps...go VIKES!

Good job Terry, I think this was the most competative year yet for the PC league, everyone seemed to try to maximize linups. I feel pretty good about the season considering what I had to work with.

Next season will be interesting for myself and Brendan...we'll be in Australia the entire NFL season! I think we'll probably still try to do the fantasy thing, it should help us keep up somewhat with what's going on, but I doubt I'll be able to watch many of the games live...that'll be odd.

Well, I'm starting to miss football season enough that the pain of the Colts' and the Hodags' loss is finally starting to fade... I enjoyed playing FF with other Prius Chat members and hope to do so again next year.

So, the land down under... going to work there or just taking a sabbatical? Great experience for the family...

Both, I'm going to work for 6 months and just immerse in the culture as much as possible, then we'll spend a couple more months traveling through Asia, Europe and a quick trip to Egypt.

Sounds great... We are looking into Fulbrights to spend some time in Guatemala and travel some in Latin America. A year away does sound great. Hope its a great experience for you and your family.

It's slow here for a Friday afternoon...so I thought I'd resurrect the football topic.

What do folks think about some of the off-season moves so far?

McNabb to Washington as well as the Shanahan effect (RB by comittee)?
Peppars to Chicago and the effect of Mike Martz?
The continuing decay of the Steelers (off field troubles)?
    Will Brandon Marshall get traded?
Will Vick stay with Philly as a backup?
Will LT get resurrected with the Jets?

Who do you think should be #1 in drafts...Chris Johnson, MJD, or Peterson?
