Three of a kind?

    Went to town today to get my hair cut (all seven of them) and parked in a multi-story carpark.

    When I returned 20 mins later I noticed a pearl white 2010 Prius had parked next to me. As I walked closer to my car a blue 2010 Prius pulled in next to the white one! Three in a row!

    I did have a bit of a chuckle with the woman who had just parked it as I thought the Prius was supposed to be a rare old thing outside of London, especially the 2010 version. It would appear not as I have seen many parked up around town on my travels.

    Maybe us Yorkshire folk know a good thing when we see one?

    Has anyone else noticed that the new 2010 Prius is selling in places where the older 2004-2009 version didn't? Any ideas or suggestions why this may be so? Is the 2010 less of a compromise than the other versions?

    it probably is nothing more than just a coincidence to see a cluster of G-III's at any single location, like I saw three of them (mix of II's and III's plus mine's) in an In-and-Out drive thru line last night

    It's funny I don't see a lot of GEN III's around here I do see quite a few
    GENII's.When I bought mine the dealer had 42 genIII all colors lined up in a row that was cool !! :ranger:

    Definitely seeing a lot more of them especially being in NorCal, though I've talked to people who said they definitely like the look of the Gen 3 vs the old one because of the sportier look. My first instinct when I see one is to see what kind of tires they have to know if it's a V or not lol. Also I tend to park farther away after having a couple of close calls with shopping carts, and a lot of times to my surprise is another Gen3 parked next or near me. :)

    North of me is Eugene, OR, home of the University of Oregon and a very eco-concious populace. Any parking lot I'm in I can see at least 3 Prii near me if not 5 or more. The town I live in is a bit more of a pickup truck with gun rack kind of place but I still see quite a few Prii. The other day I was 3rd in a train of 3 GIIs cruising down one main ave. Always nice to see.

    You guys should see what happen in Silicon Valley. Just every block there is a Gen II there and a Gen III within few blocks too.

    So are the 2010 Prius (Prii) making it to places the Gen2 didn't like here in my home town? There are a few Gen2s but there do seem to be many more Gen3's.

    There are loads of Prius's in London as they are exempt from the London congestion charge which is a daily £10 toll to get into central London. Obviously it makes sense to get a Prius is you travel there and you will see quite a few in that area. Now in the rest of the UK there are no such benefits and as such it is fairly rare to see a Prius.

    But there do appear to be quite a few Gen3's appearing in my town where there are no particular benefits to Prius ownership. Is this because the Gen3 is less of a compromise and a good car in its own sense?

    I know in the USA there are areas where Prius ownership is encouraged - such as California, but is the Prius (esp the Gen3) making it to places that haven't had Prius before?

    Prius have always been popular here. I see one every couple minutes during my commute.

    But considering how many 2010 are spotted verses the amount of time they've actually been available, there's already evidence that the purchase rate has increased considerably with the newest generation.

    You were in a Prii Pod :D

    A similar thing happened to me 2 weeks ago at work. I parked next to a Gen III and nose to nose with a Gen II.

    It was a Pod of Prii.

    i think that the prius is a car that everybody in their right mind have had considered owning one but untill now have just waited to get feed back on their reliability . i am one of those people :) ho doesent what to save money and be a little more friendly to the planet while they are at it! the only thing that i am woried about is this new batery pack i think this type has a definite expiration date after a certain amount of charging !
