Temperatures, sea level, ocean acidification are all up:
Green Car Congress: CSIRO/BOM: Australias Mean Temperature has Risen 0.7 C Since 1960, Climate Change is Real
referencing CSIRO's "State of the Climate, March 2010".

"Australia holds one of the best national climate records in the world. The Bureau’s been responsible for keeping that record for more than a hundred years and it’s there for anyone and everyone to see, use and analyse."

Hasn't a constantly changing climate always been real?

Not in historical times. You must be referring innapropriately to geologic times.

So the earht's climate has not been changing every day, every year, every decade, every century since the beginning of time? The earth's temperature was a straight line until the industrial age?

Are you saying "geologic times" are irrelevant to current climate study?

Only if you keep them in perspective. Changes in geologic time occur over hundreds of thousands of years. Not in the timescale of decades, as in the current measured warming.

There is no way when looking at geologic records to determine climate that any record of the climate of a given century can be done. For all we know during the last ice age a rise of a couple of degrees could have easily happened during a few decades, even though the trend line for milenium(s) was down significantly.

So where does the assertion of variability you are always making comes from?

so you are suggesting there is not any variablillity to climate?

Show me past variability in the timeframe and extent of current warming.

Show me data tha has not been 'adjusted' that show an unprecedented warmup over the last 100 years. An unprecedented warmup.

Seriously. Are we still at this level? This is just one independent line of research of the dozen or so.

This paper is independent confirmation of the "hockey stick" based on glaciers rather than tree rings. Another reason the old "climategate" and "hockey stick" discussions are irrelevant.
