    Buy a HUMMER ? ? ? Why ? You Own which ? ? ? an Oil Well or a Refinery ? I understand that the CIA plot to bankrupt the Red Chinese by selling them the Hummer plant was compromised. I heard Wal-Mart warned them off ! It would have worked better than Nukin'm !

    It must be those school dropouts wearing the blue vests with the stains on them, and the old lady at the door they never let sit down, who's supposed to smile at you before you buy stuff made in Communist China. I can think of numerous things to call them, but 'cool' never occured to me at all.:boxing:

    I don't own an oil well or a refinery. I just thought that suing and giving the money to wall street and buying a Hummer H2, after which I would declare bankruptcy, would be a good way to support and show our loyalty to the Corperate States of America.

    And by the way, Jimmy Hoffa is buried in Grant's tomb. Hell, us dumb southerns know that Yankee!:D

    If they ever drain the Goethals Canal in Brooklyn, I'll prove you wrong. That actually is being considered as the badly polluted, and foul smelling canal has been declared a federal Super Fund site, kinda same-same 'Love Canal' was upstate. I don't know what it is about New York State and its canals, but whatever you do, don't ever swim, fish or fall in one. I think the idea for 'the Joker' in the Batman cartoons began that way, only he wouldn't be smiling.

    With all the crap being slung around it's nice to have a little humor.

    The irony however is, there is a lot of truth in humor.

    Think of George Carlin to whom I now qoute:

    The real reason that we can’t have the Ten Commandments in a courthouse: You cannot post “Thou shalt not steal,” “Thou shalt not commit adultery,” and “Thou shalt not lie” in a building full of lawyers, judges, and politicians. It creates a hostile work environment.

    This thread's a riot. However:

    What about statist lawmen/women who make mandates they expect us to follow but from which they're exempt? Corporatism run amok is bad but statism is no better (and the insurance company's profits aren't exceptionally astronomical compared to other industries...in fact, a fair bit lower than some if my sources are correct). The red herring is the cost of healthcare and the sources of that escalating cost (malpractice suits, inefficiency, etc.).

    With all due respect, please don't discuss politics here. Everyone here -- progressive or conservative -- loves Priuses. Obviously, we all agree about a lot of things in regards to technology, energy, and helping the environment. Yes, there are many conservatives that drive Priuses, and some are even vegetarians too. Let's remain united on the basis of driving the best car in the world and helping our country reduce its dependence on terrorist-owned foreign oil.
