I suspect it was just a lame trolling swipe rather than a serious question.

His question is like someone asking if only cat lovers can join!

My best friend (other than my wife) is a rabid Republican. He thinks all Muslims are out to kill us "infidels" (they're NOT); he thinks Vince Foster was assassinated by Hillary, etc. I love him anyway!

This board is definetely an open forum, and great technically as well. Most lean left, but are open and welcome good logical debates. YOU are indeed welcome, there are right wingers, middle of the road, and left wingers and independents. Free speech is the norm, keep the technical on the technical side, and let the wind out here in FRED's House of Pancakes. I started rough, and hung in there, stick to your guns LEFT OR RIGHT., be informed and look at all sides...CONGRADS on the choice of cars and this site. WELCOME ABOARD, don't get run off, we are ALL nice people. The strong point is the CAR., and this site REALLY helps out. Any problem you have you will get help here period.

The loss of a troll is not a loss.

IAltmann, learn about the Internet--and if you disagree with my last post, please state why.

Do you see trolls as valuable?

Alright. Common misunderstanding potentially perpetuated by a lack of explination. I thought about stepping in last night but decided against it. This morning, I'm stepping in.

IALTMANN and anyone else who didn't already know this:
On internet bulliten boards - such as this one - a Troll is a person who comes around, stirs up trouble and leaves. Often, that person makes only one post and never visits the site again. They don't care, they're most likely just killing time at the expense of those poeple who take them seriously.

I can see where you might have misunderstood Orsino given the topic and responses of this thread. But please understand that he was refering to the act of tolling and was - hopefully - not refering to anyone as a troll based solely on their political affiliation.

If any infighting were to result from this thread and any responses posted herein, then any intention malicious trolling proved effective. In fact, reviewing the profile of the original poster insicates that he has not returned to the site after the date he started this thread.

 I am here to learn and share Prius tips and information, not to engage in some pointless political sparring. I utilize the "Ignore" feature available in PriusChat to filter out those who insist on inserting their political frustrations into a Prius forum. There are numerous political forums in which they'd be more at home.

When "Ignore" is utilized, that poster essentially vanishes in my use of the forum.

I work everyday, do a lot of volunteer work and have no time for studying every facet of the internet. Thanks for the troll explanation..It sounded like you were glad to be rid of someone whom might not be seing eye to eye with you, hence I directed you to your own signature. You were right, I do not know what TROLL is and I assure you, I care that this car makes it big with ALL, right or left...to help the oil dependency and curb our demand. I was pleased today to see commercial on FOX news today. Other then that, I am no "trolling" here.

No, I believe that you are a serious poster. The trolling I suspect, and can't prove as such with a single hit-and-run post, came from elsewhere.

Heck, I'll bite. I voted for Bush when I lived in TX for governor. I voted for him again the first time he ran for president. But like they say you learn from your mistakes and move on. I was and still am republicain. I, however, don't support this administrations policy of shoot first, shoot some more, and when everything stops moving ask a question or two. Will that make me ignore someone that doesn't agree with my sensabilities? No, that's what makes this country what it is. Quite frankly, I'd be scared out of my skull if everyone everywhere agreed with everything I said or thought. To much like a cult if ya ask me. Don't run off scared now.

Oh yeah, that contrary point of view. In the case of Bush it happens to be the majority point of view of the fraction of those who voted who were eligible to do so in the election held late last year.

That contrary point of view, those of us who believe that the wonderful Prius is a creation of the competitive marketplace, the capitalist system, and no government program is capable of coming up with anything so nice.

That contrary point of view, that taxes on fossil fuels can enable the market to reduce demand and engage product substitution vs the leftist adoration for big government agency and its byzantine schemes.

And it is perfectly acceptable here to torment the resident leftists with that contrary point of view here, as long as the rules of tact and gracious decorum are followed, which I think I do all of, including the tormenting.

(what I really don't understand about the left is the penchant for trusting liberal pols when conservatives don't trust any pols, we keep a watchful eye on even the ones we support. This isn't a religion for us, we worship gods other than government)

It seems that recently the conservatives are coming out of the woodwork more on PC - anyone else noticed this? We are having many more threads where there seems to be an equal number of people from both sides of the fence.

Isn't this good Danny...At least the object of getting ALL to see this CAR., as accomplishing what both sides can see is GOOD for all. And by magic the government had little to do with it.

Im not pro bush nor am I liberal but most people typecast me as liberal because I drive a
prius. here is a funny example: Me and the wife were loading our groceries into the hatch
and we were approached by a guy running for council in our district he just assumed we were Democrats and started in with his spiel and bush conservative bashing and after he
was done we too were done loading and I closed the hatch to expose my Fred '08 sticker
and his face went as red as my barcelona.

Ok I'll admit I voted for Bush not once but twice.
