I just got a Motorola E815 from Verizon and have been able to connect it to the Prius. My problem is that once I get into the car and the bluetooth connects automatically, I don't know how to conduct a private (handset only) conversation on a call I make or one that is incoming. After all, not all calls need be heard by passengers. I guess that I am looking for a easy way (and one that will not cause my attention to be diverted from the road) to press some kind of button in the car to temporarily disconnect the phone from the bluetooth connection. Once the call is ended, I would like the phone to automatically reconnect through Bluetooth or have anther quick button press to do so. Does anyone know if the Prius has this capability?

    TIA

Uhh.. On my Sony Ericsson s710a, if you are dailing the number into the phone, after you push call on the phone, a screen asks if you want to tranfer to phone or bluetooth, so you can click either. Then if I'm getting a call, you can either pick it up on bluetooth through the car, or just click answer on the phone and its through the phone.
Im not sure if this applys to your phone, but its certainly worth a try!

The Sprint LG PM-325 has a similar feature.

During a call the phone displays a menu which features an "Audio Transfer" selection. It will switch the call to or from the handsfree system during the conversation. In the alternative, you can initiate or answer a call through either the phone or the car and the call remain that way until you use the Audio Transfer feature.

The LG VX8100 also has it, but it's buried several levels deep in a menu tree. It's a real pain to get to. I found the audio quality of the handsfree kit to be pretty awful anyway, and earlier this evening I "unpaired" my phone. I'm giving up on Bluetooth for the Prius.

My Blackberry 7100g doesn't seem to give you the option. As soon as you dial, there's a delay and then the call transfers. The fastest way I can think to go private is to turn off the Bluetooth on the phone.

The e815 should be like the v710. Use the main menu button and select the "Use Handset" option.

On my and my brother's phones, you just press the speakerphone button and the call transfers to the phone. I have an HTC and he has a Samsung. A lady at the Toyota dealer told me this. She got tired of only Bluetooth and started pushing buttons on her phone. I have a 05 Prius and my bro has a 09.
