I've gotta say, I typically RUN from dealerships and usually steer towards used cars, but this last weekend was quite different. I have been browsing this site for a few weeks as I've grown more and more fond of the Prius. Well, last Friday I sold me Chrysler 300C (go ahead and send the hate mail now) and thought I'd just drop by the Toyota dealer in Irvine to check out the Gen III's in person. My intention was to just look, then go find something outside of a dealership. Little did I know...

Well, it started with a short convo with one of the sales guys named Nick Naderi, who was waiting for a couple to come back, but took me out to check out the Gen III while waiting for them. FYI, he genuinely had a client coming back, and they did. At that point he had a fellow salesman named Alan Domingo take me out for a test drive. Alan was great, very patient, very informative and made it clear that they wanted to earn my business.

We then went inside to take a look at some possible lease options and at that point, I showed told them about some other deals I was aware of and made it pretty apparent that I was looking for a great deal. Well, I got it. Right off the bat, they offered me a darn good deal on a 2010 Prius II with just the addition of BlueLogic.

    Terms of the deal:
2010 Prius II - Silver with Gray interior
    36 month lease
    15,000 miles a year
    BlueLogic included
    $236 per month and $750 down :D

To be honest, I couldn't pass it up. I saw no proof I'd get anything better and they were GREAT TO DEAL WITH! So I signed on the dotted line and they moved me into the finance department where I dealt with a girl named Mai Naderi who was... yep, also GREAT TO DEAL WITH! Very sweet, not pushy, explained things well... Then last, I went outside to drive off in my new Prius and was giving the full run down of the cars features by Javier Carvente, the "Delivery Specialist"...? I didn't know there was such a thing, but he was just that. Super nice, very informative, very knowledgeable.

I am not easily impressed, but everyone there was absolutely great. All this and I show up just after lunch on a Saturday. I would think that would be the busy time when everyone would be too busy to slow down and explain everything. All-in-all, an incredibly surprising and great experience. I would recommend Nick, Alan, Mai, Javier and the few other people I spoke to, to anyone.

Now, for those thinking this might be some loaded advertising from an inside guy, it's not. I am an insurance agent in Orange that just walked into a group of people that impressed me enough to make me want to write up this blurb.

In summary, if you are looking to beat some sales guy over the head for a great deal on a Prius, stop by Power Toyota in Irvine and hit up Nick Nick or Alan, and if you're lucky, you'll also get to work with Mai and Javier.

And here's a pic of my new baby...

Congrats on your new Prius! Does your per month payment include tax? I inked a nearly identical deal last Sunday at Tustin Toyota for $218/month excluding tax, $0 down and zero interest. The only difference is my mileage is limited to 12k miles/year. Sounds like you got a great deal.

This works out to $9200 on a car that would cost
$22-24K if you had done an outright purchase.
Given that you didn't pay the entire price, what
portion of the state sales tax do you pay?

    Congratulations on your new car!

Did they make sure to show you Neutral and emergency power-off?

Eco, the 15k per year was an extra $15/mo I think. And there was also $4/mo for the BlueLogic add-on. Take those off and the base cost was $217 I guess...

Also, JCGee, that was without tax. You pay tax on the monthly payment. So the $236 + Orange County tax totaled $257 per month. That payment saves me about $120 per month from what I was paying on my Chrylser 300C and about $200 per month in gas savings. I am a happy man with an extra $320/mo in my pocket.

Hobbit, they didn't show me the neutral and emergency power off, but they did give me a pair of elbow pads in case I need to bail out.
