I was in a hurry so I put in only $5 worth. The light kept blinking so later on in the day I put in $5 more. Didn't stop blinking. Then, I don't know why, I put in another $5 this evening. It's still blinking and not registering the amount of gas I put in.
    Help!

In my manual, it says that it may not register amounts less than 3 gallons, I am betting $5 won't buy 3 gallons.

"When you refuel less than about 11.4 L (3.0 gal., 2.5 lmp.gal.), the fuel indicator may not change." Page 122 of the 2007 manual

Yes, I read all that. But if you reread my message you'll see that I put in a TOTAL of $15 and it is still blinking.

Does not matter, you never put in more than 3 gallons at once. If you keep adding $5 at a time it can be spilling on the ground and still 'empty'. But if you ever put 4 gallons in it in a single event, all is well.

What jimbo said. Adding $5 at a time won't do anything.

Here, 10 bucks isn't enough to make the blinking stop.

I just recently had the same problem and it did that several times before it stayed on all the time. First time to the dealer...they said I had run it too low on fuel and it had messed up the code. A week later it started again...this time it was the cathylitic converter. $1800...on my 97,000 miles prius...with an extended warrenty that covered it all and even the rental car. Scared the poop out of me...but hopefully I will not have another 2k repair job for a while. Should be hitting that magic 100k this week.
